Veys (
Persian : ويس )
[a] is a city in, and the capital of,
Veys District of
Bavi County ,
Khuzestan province,
Iran .
[4] It also serves as the administrative center for
Veys Rural District .

At the 2006 census, its population was 14,024 in 2,478 households, when it was in the former Bavi District of
Ahvaz County ).
[6] The following census in 2011 counted 15,105 people in 3,919 households,
[7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Bavi County.
[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 15,312 people in 4,064 households.
