A new task force was created to improve collaboration for developing film articles related to Avant-garde and experimental films. If you are interested in working on articles in line with the task force, consider joining and watchlisting the page for updates.
We are looking for new editors for the newsletter for future issues. If you are interested in helping shape the newsletter to focus on new areas or submit individual stories, we can use your help! The newsletter can be edited by all members of the project, and we are always seeking new volunteers. Instructions will be provided on how to develop the newsletter each month. Any interest and/or questions can be submitted on the talk page of the Outreach department or contact
Nehrams2020.
Several film articles are available for review at both WP:GAN and WP:FAC. As members of this project are more familiar with WP:FILM guidelines for film articles, input at these reviews can be helpful for determining if they meet all good and featured criteria. Other articles can also be found at WP:PR looking for helpful comments.
Based on views, the top five most popular articles from our project this month were: Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Super 8, Green Lantern,
X-Men (film series), and X-Men: First Class. For a list of our project's top 1,000 most popular articles, see here. Consider helping to improve one of these articles that is seen by thousands to millions of people each month.
Our project currently has just over 87,400 film-related articles, with only a handful of unassessed articles, thanks to the assessment department! Remember to always add the {{
WikiProject Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. If you believe that an article should be assessed at a certain class, feel free to follow the assessment scale and assess the article yourself (it's not too difficult to determine the basic classes such as stubs, categories, or lists). Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in June 2011.
Remember that any editor can give the
WikiProject Film Award to another WP:FILM member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.
Please add your name to the member list if you have not already.
... that independent filmmaker Frank Sudol wrote, animated, voiced, directed, and composed all of the music for his film Dead Fury?
... that at the 1933 première of the film Das häßliche Mädchen there was a Nazi-instigated riot in which tomatoes and rotten eggs were thrown, because of the male lead,

If you've just joined, add your name to the
Participants section of
Wikipedia:WikiProject Film. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered
as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the
next issue (Issue 7 – July 2011). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!
Hi there, I have nominated the discography of
Nadia Ali for FL. The first reviewer opposed the nomination and gave me a list of things to change but has said nothing since then. I have done most of the corrections along with the second reviewer, who's helping me with the formatting. I was wondering if you could please have a look at it and suggest what more I need to do? Thanks!

The 1995 Brazilian Grand Prix (formally the XXIV Grande Prêmio do Brasil) was a
Formula One motor race held on March 26, 1995 at the
Autódromo José Carlos Pace,
São Paulo,
Brazil. It was the first round of the
1995 Formula One season. The race, contested over 71 laps, was won by
Michael Schumacher for the
Benetton team after starting from second position.
David Coulthard finished second in a
Williams, with
Gerhard Berger third in a
Ferrari.
Damon Hill, who started the race from
pole position, spun out while leading on lap 30 with an apparent
gearbox problem, which was later found to be a
suspension failure. Schumacher's win came despite Benetton encountering steering problems with his car during Friday practice, leading to him crashing heavily and necessitating steering component changes for the rest of the event. Despite Schumacher's victory, Hill proved to be faster during the race, and seemed to be on course for a comfortable victory before his sudden retirement.
Other notable performances came from Berger, who took the final podium position despite being delayed during one of his routine pit stops due to a problem with a loose wheel nut;
Mika Häkkinen, who finished fourth for the
McLaren team despite its new car proving to be uncompetitive in pre-season testing; and
Mika Salo, who drove strongly in the first half of the race to run third in his first Grand Prix for the
Tyrrell team, only to suffer from cramp and drop back to seventh place at the finish. Behind Häkkinen, the other points-scoring finishers were
Jean Alesi in the second Ferrari and
Mark Blundell, who drove the second McLaren. Blundell was standing in for regular driver
Nigel Mansell in the second McLaren until the team could produce a wider chassis in which to accommodate him, as the car's initial cockpit design had proved to be too narrow for him to drive comfortably.
Several hours after the conclusion of the race, Schumacher and Coulthard were
excluded from the race result as the chemical "fingerprint" of fuel samples from their cars taken after qualifying and the race did not match the specified sample lodged with the
Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) prior to the event. Berger was thus declared the winner, but the race stewards' decision to exclude them was overturned at an appeal hearing on April 13. Schumacher and Coulthard were reinstated in first and second places respectively, but the two teams did not receive their respective
constructors' points. The Ferrari team was unhappy with the decision made at the appeal hearing; Berger called the sport "a joke". The rule concerning the legality of fuels had been changed for the 1995 season, as had the new standardised equipment used for refuelling during the race, the drivers' weighing-in procedure and the conditions of the drivers'
racing licences; all of these changes produced controversies which at times threatened to overshadow the race, as did the excessively bumpy condition of the track. The race also marked the first Brazilian Grand Prix to take place since the death of Brazilian triple World Champion
Ayrton Senna the previous year; his passing was commemorated in various ways throughout the event.
* Heidfeld and Sutil recorded no time in Q3 as they did not attempt a run. Heidfeld started ahead, after leaving the pits during the session and Sutil did not.
As some of you may know, we were expecting a baby and if you haven't friended me on Facebook, then I'm very pleased to announce that McKenzie Hunter Edwards was born yesterday, 7-11-11, and he weighed in at 7lb 9oz and measured 20.5 inches long.
So as my family and I adjust to our new addition it's my plan to to be take a break from the site for a while (not that my activity here has been anywhere near what it was a few years ago). I'll still be around, mostly as a reader, so I'll see any talk page messages but that's about it.

Hello Matthew,
I'm partially back toe the tutorials. So did you ouput something using QGis ? whatever the level, it would be good that you upload it, and state to me the layers you were not able to generate. I may tinker the tutorials or change my focus accordingly.

Hi Yug. I haven't had a chance to sit down and have a really good play with the software since we last spoke. My son was born last week so for now I'm concentrating on him and not so much on Wikipedia. Things are going smoother than I expected though, so I might be able to spend a bit of time on it -- but not a lot. I'll keep my eye on the tutorials though and give feedback if I think of anything. Regards, Matthewedwards :
