Random comments

Other random comments: Judging by the amount of sports fans out there in the world, (which I must say I am not one of them), it musn't be too hard to find people willing to write near endless quantities of material on sports. -- Simon J Kissane

you might think so, but not many of them have found their way to wikipedia yet, particularly for the more obscure sports. I've written a whole bunch of initial articles on various less common sports, but nobody else has picked up much slack yet -- Robert Merkel

Wimbledon champions

Today I merged information from List of Wimbledon Mixed Doubles champions into List of Wimbledon Doubles champions, creating this new version of List of Wimbledon Doubles champions. What do you think? Should I replace the current article? - dcljr ( talk) 17:23, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I disagree. They are separate championships. And I would like to see runners-up and scores on those lists as well. — Cantus 20:27, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)

Okay, but apart from objecting to the conflating of the different types of championships, there's nothing about the way I did it that prevents more info from being added. For example, the table could start out something like this:

Year Gentlemen's pair Ladies' pair Mixed pair
2004 Todd Woodbridge ( AUS) and Jonas Björkman ( SWE) d. Julian Knowle ( AUT) and Nenad Zimonjic ( SCG) 6-1, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 Cara Black ( ZIM) and Rennae Stubbs ( AUS) d. Liezel Huber ( RSA) and Ai Sugiyama ( JPN) 6-3, 7-6 Wayne Black and Cara Black ( ZIM) d. Alicia Molik and Todd Woodbridge ( AUS) 3-6, 7-6, 6-4
