Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Background: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gabriella~four.3-6/Archive User has been engaging in sockpuppetry since January 2014 or so. Without getting into the entirety of the case, the article I am requesting protection on was created by one of her socks, Gabriella703, and has been manipulated regularly by some of her IPs [1] [2] by an obvious sock [3] and by a suspected sock [4]. Based on the user's long-term pattern of disruption, her persistent intention to create multiple accounts sometimes almost simultaneously, I'm requesting long term protection from IPs and non-autoconfirmed users. This is not a very heavily edited article. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb ( talk) 16:26, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: A problem article. Lots of unsourced or poorly sourced material added continously, very few editors with expertise and a real long time problem. Semi-protection: The country Ukraine is currently undergoing a civil war, and this is massively spilling over into Wikipedia. At least half of the editors who work on Ukraine related articles are obviously on one side or the other of this civil war. Nevertheless, editors on both "sides" agree on certain facts. Yet an IP has been making edits denying these facts, most notably by insisting upon the inclusion of the word "allegedly", when it is acknowledged by all sides that what is involved here are not allegations, but facts. This IP's edits are highly disruptive. – Herzen ( talk) 18:55, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

The Scurvy article has been protected since September 2010, without a reason being provided (vandalism is not mentioned). Can this page be unlocked please?
On a related matter, there is a conflict in the advice given: the Scurvy article page (Protection log) states that requests for de-protection should be made here on this Request page, whereas this Request page states that de-protection should be discussed on the article Talk page. hi,
there are too many people in a field called "physics" that are removing galilean relativity from the article, which is very inappropriate.
i have a problem with the people removing it because the large majority of individuals in "physics" blindly followed the lorentz transformation without even understanding that it has NO Geometric basis.
i have put my arguments forward on the talk page and did not receive any response by the individuals who are reverting my edits. i find this inexcusable, especially since i'm the one getting a warning for trying to keep the page AS IT WAS AS OF A WEEK AGO.
i think a mathematically competent individual is necessary to evaluate the validity of the block, because the removal of galilean relativity is UNACCEPTABLE. it is WELL KNOWN that galilean relativity has a MATHEMATICALLY RIGOROUS GEOMETRIC INTERPRETATION (unlike the lorentz transformation), which means that humans should be able to VISUALIZE The result.
i have provided evidence for my claims (see a gif i created here https://twitter.com/i3roly/status/550839327337762817) i am willing to provide a FULL fMRI nifti image file so that moderators can view the four dimensional basis themselves using the medinria medical image visualizer.

Creation protection: Request this title be WP:SALTed. This article has been created, and speedily deleted, four times now (three of which occurred in the last 90 days) as both overt advertising and a BLP violation. In each case a different account created the page (albeit always with identical text), making a block against the account proper an impotent measure. There's nothing to suggest this page won't continue to be created ad infinitum until it eventually manages to slip under the door (the article creator is savvy enough to put this up only on weekends when there are fewer eyes here). Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Persistent vandalism on the part of an editor and/or socks. Article was created as a poorly written biographical article with most information copied from Sultan Bahu. This was AfD'ed by myself but I decided to withdraw the nomination after edits turned the article into something meaningful. However, afterwards an editor (and their socks, SPI report pending) went on to turn the article back into hagiography of Sultan Bahu (vandalising linking articles on the way, like Hamza Makhdoom). In brief the article is a ground of edit war and is requested to be protected in its non-biographical version. Suggested time 1-2 weeks, by which time SPI should be completed. Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This page used to be semi-protected until last year, so this page became a target of vandalism and blanking after the protection period expired. So I had to clean up some vandalism. For example, I saw in the Background and History section, it mentioned about "Hold On Academy", in which the user who added such line obviously made it up. Also, one user replaced the file on this page with a link to a non-existent page, replacing the link to the file to a profanity-laced link as seen [15] here. Therefore, this page needs to be semi-protected once again. Snowager ( talk) 07:33, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Permanent semi-protection. This article has already been semi-protected twice for a month at a time, because an anonymous user, using a dynamic IP address so he/she can't be blocked, has been attempting, on and off for six months, to insert a three-paragraph, context-free quote, attributed to Alan Moore but of no obvious relevance and apparently transcribed from a Youtube video, into the article. The last semi-protection period expired on 30 December, and he/she has just gone back to the same behaviour, repeatedly inserting the same long quote. Move protection: Indefinite request. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), "The title of an article should generally use the version of the name of the subject which is most common in the English language, as you would find it in reliable sources (for example other encyclopedias and reference works, scholarly journals and major news sources)." The use of diacritics are not used in the romanization of the word by the BBC, TIME, The New York Times, China Daily, Cambridge University, etc. all cite the term as being 'sheng nu'. Other editors have twice moved, and brought up more than one on the talk page, that they would like to apply a partial spelling (not even the complete) pinyin "sheng nü" as the article title. While it may be correct against the rules of pinyin as per their interpretation, it is not the widely cited romanization of the word. As per Wikipedia policy, the reliable references prevail. Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Bollywood films, especially ones that are fresh in the public's minds, are heavily disrupted by a well-documented agenda by various production houses to inflate and deflate box office figures to suit their marketing needs. Here are some examples of improper changes: [17], (3 IPs involved here), this edit changes the box office take to 170 crore rupees but the source only speculates that the film will cross 150 crore rupees "by the end of the week".
Requesting 1 month protection from IPs, since this is a semi-recent movie (December 2014ish) that keeps getting updated box office figures without reliable sources.
