Is there a problem adding political donations on the Sprint Nextel Wiki page? Do I need to ask for a moderator? They will side on my side as they have in the past. Political donations are a very informative part of a corporate make up. They shouldn't be ashamed of who they give money too. It is what it is, and it is not biased. It is simply information.
Hi. I noticed that you are removing this cat from Anguilla - while it is unfortunately named, is it actually inappropriate? (I do think the cat should be re-named). Guettarda 18:21, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The category covers: Non-sovereign territories in North America, South America or the Caribbean. As Anguilla is non-independent, the category is appropriate. The name of the cat is misleading - technically accurate, but misleading wrt common usage of the word "American". Guettarda 18:47, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Countryboxes are recommended by Wikipedia:WikiProject Countries. Most countries seem to have them. Or do you mean these navigation temples like {{ Caricom}}? Mixed opinions on that - SimonP leads the oppostion there, and general feeling seems to be that there shouldn't be more template than text. Or did you mean something else? Hi. I was thinking about putting together a "Caribbean Wikipedians' Notice Board", and I was wondering if something like that - a resource to try to guide and develop coverage of the wider Caribbean. I put together a list of the (Anglo-)Caribbean people I could think of here, I also have links to some of these other boards so you can see how they look/work. Let me know if it interests you. I noticed the question you posted on the Red Line (MBTA) talk page. Why did you delete it upon finding the answer? You shouldn't delete something like that from a talk page, even if you put it there. It was a legitimate question, after all, and I had wondered about that as well. Even if it did exit on the Cambridge side of the Charles, I don't understand where it was. Judging by maps of the Red Line, Harvard Station is as close as the tunnel gets to Harvard Stadium. So, if you don't mind, could you revert the talk page back with your question, and put in the answer? Thanks. Foxmulder 16:09, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi there CaribDigita! I saw your addition of the news link to the Nevis page, so I figured you would be the best (only) person I could write this to: Everybody else adding to the Nevis page seem to think that nothing interesting has happened in Nevis since the last British ship sailed off for America with the pilgrims (or something). ;) There's this long, long, long section about which European ships sailed past and then another section about how the most famous Nevisian was the son of a Scotsman who left for St. Croix at 9 and then for the States shortly after, followed by another section about how the second most famous Nevisian is a British admiral swinging by to get married on his way to Trafalgar. Sigh. Anyway, I'm looking for a picture of Eulalie Spence (famous female Harlem renaissance playwright from Nevis) for the article, and one of Willet, to put at the bottom to compete with Hamilton and Nelson, and I still have to add a Culturama section and fix the history section (those marked red are my work-in-progress sections), but as soon as those are taken care of, I think these updates could be added to the old page. Only thing, I've been living in the US for a while now (I spent most of my life in the Caribbean and in Sweden (dual citizen), but I have been gone from Nevis for almost 8 years now, off and on, living in different parts of the world, last in Cali..and I suddenly realize that I'm hopelessly prone to put in Z instead of S and commit other Caribbean grammar faux-pas now.) Please Digita, if you're not too busy, would you be able to help out and get that Nevis update organised and ready to be added, pretty please? I put it in my sandbox for now: User:Pia L/sandbox, because I like to think things over in peace first, before I get too distracted by other's editing. Uhm, it will be a long article. Do you think it needs to be split it up? All the best (hope you ae not gone for the summer), Pia 12:01, 23 June 2006 (UTC) (PS. Forgot to add: Do you know where the project page from Barbados went, the one created for the UNESCO slave trade and "Lest we forget" series? Is the archive online somewhere else these days? Described here [1] and [2]. I would love to use those documents here.)
Antigua seems like it underwent a Wikipedia-wide collaboration but largely hasn't moved since.... As far as 'S' and 'Z' spellings, I do the same thing with the British based spellings all-the-time and in fact I've literally confused myself really bad in terms of my own spelling. Sometimes I absent-mindedly type things that are way off in spelling and when I happen by them again and I'm like 'eeek. what was I thinking?' anyway I know just where you're coming from... Hopefully we'll both find a way thru eh?
Anyway feel free to contact me whenever. I'll check out your sandbox wiki article in the mean time and try to think if there's anything else that might be missing that persons might be trying to find out say- 50 years from now. That's how I think of all articles I contribute to. What do I know know that someone might want to look-up 50 or more years from now. CaribDigita 02:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Please see other countries, such as India for style guidelines. We don't use single use templates, and putting it in articles where its presence is not justified just to keep it is silly. Again, see Culture of India for that type of article and Economy of India for a proper economy infobox on that page. Also, if you are hell bent on using the template, be aware that you are not allowed to use the coat of arms in template spaces. As such, I have removed it from the temlate. -- Bob 15:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Queen Elizabeth II is 1/16th the Queen of Barbados? Where did you get that idea from? Okay, firstly, the Queen of Barbados and the Queen of Canada are separate legal persons. Anything Queen Elizabeth II does as Queen of Canada has absolutely no impact on Barbados (e.g. giving Royal Assent to the 1982 Canada Act). Likewise the Crown in Barbados and the Crown in Australia are separate legal entities (the Crown being the legal authority of the government and also the office of the Queen and a symbol of her reign). She is not 1/16th the Queen of Barbados (otherwise please name the other 15 sovereigns of Barbados' "sedecarchy" (for 16 rulers just as monarchy is for 1) since that is the only way there can be a person who shares the reign of Barbados). Queen Elizabeth II may be the same (biological) person but the separate constitutions of all the Realms creates separate legal frameworks around her (and her successors). Please read the Crown, the section on the evolution of the British monarchy into the separate monarchies for each Realm in the British monarchy article (note what the constitutional lawyer says), Development of shared monarchy, Style of the British Sovereign (from 1922 onwards), Royal and Parliamentary Titles Act 1927 and also the various discussions (probably in the archives) in these articles. Overall, whilst "shared" in a manner of speaking, she is not divided. Also any country on earth with a "Head of State" can give said head of state certain powers or diminish them under their constitution (just look at Nepal recently). You state that While one so called "realm" may pass have or pass a provision granting her certain powers a totally different realms' constitution may not include provisions for or recognize. This reflects her separate constitutional roles. The Royal anthem is not granted and does not have to be spelled out in a law. God Saves the Queen (or King) is essentially the royal anthem for the Crown and not just the separate legal entities of the Queen of the United Kingdom or the Queen of Tuvalu. It is true that New Zealand has God Save the Queen as an additional national anthem and that this does not automatically make the song the national anthems of all the other Realms, but that does not change it status as the royal anthem (the two being different with royal anthems being, of course, unique to monarchies).
My point about the RBPF is that its very name shows that a royal anthem can actually be placed in an article about Barbados and was also to show that Barbados is actually a Realm. As for "being recognized by law" I already pointed out that not every little detail is covered in a written constitution (some things are simply put down to tradition).
Hmmm... "Welp.". I really hope you weren't trying to spell "Whelp" (which is what you would be if you were trying - I've never called you a name so I don't expect you to start, if the tone is heated I apologize for that, but no name calling). I'll ask you again to please point out exactly in the Constitution you can find anything on any one of the following: The Barbadian national anthem, national flower, national flag, national pledge, Barbadian dollar, Queen's personal standard, Governor General's flag, national motto, etc. None of these are in the Barbados constitution (although the Irish constitution does outline its national flag), thus again proving my point that not everything is written in the Constitution of Barbados. I don't have to wonder if the Queen is shown on Barbados' money. She doesn't have to be shown. She is not shown on Jamaica's money and is only shown on a few bills and coins in Australia and Canada's money. Turks and Caicos and the British Virgin Islands use US dollars and thus they never see her face on money. Oddly enough, she is shown on the money used by Dominica, even though that country is a republic (of course, that is because Dominica is in a currency union with other countries that have used her face on the money since before Dominica's independence).
I don't understand something though. You say that you have "never read the Constitutions or various acts of parliaments governing the OECS states in the Caribbean".... but you distinctly pointed me to the Barbados constitution in the first revert edit summary? Well, I'm not sure how the OECS fit into all of this since Barbados is not in the OECS (but Commonwealth Caribbean constitution are for the most part fairly similar anyway). I can fully appreciate your dispair when you put in a lot of hard work and then it gets deleted or voted off. I mean, just look on the list of national constitution in wikipedia and in wikisource. I've noticed that not a single Commonwealth Caribbean constitution is there, yet they have just about every American constitution imaginable, plus all the documents related to the Australian, Canadian, British, New Zealand, German, Soviet, etc. constitutions. Just goes to show your right that people care less about those countries. I even remember recently having to put the Barbadian, Maltese, Malaysian and Indian nationality laws in the British and Commowealth Citizenship template and adding the Governor-General of the West Indies Federation to the Governor-General template and having to merge the two articles on CXC (which both amazingly contained different information). I take your point that what one Realm does for tradition or protocol/official procedure is not necessarily the same in others and at any rate, since it is not going to be as simple as finding an official document from Barbados about God Save the Queen (since tradition is not necessarily written down), then I won't press the issue. Having brought up the general neglect to smaller countries in Wikipedia, might you perhaps be interested in doing the Barbadian constitution in Wikisource and maybe creating a corresponding article here in Wikipedia? It shouldn't be too hard since the constitution can be found on a number of websites (and since Wikisource has to reproduce it exactly as how it appears) it would be a simple matter of just copying, pasteing and editing the text to conform to the Wikisource format. And if you're really interested (and if Guettarda is too) I could help you with the Constitution for the Federation of the West Indies (I have access to a copy in the library - but it's awfully long though). 72.27.87.249 07:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll probably stick around to fix things or help make things flow-better between articles. But I'm less-- likely to write any new articles because I've noticed there's some "Deletion task force" that seems hell-bent on deleting anything-- on Wikipedia (regardless of the importance, or without even holding a discussion.) They are quick to delete any article as long as it is not "about", "of", or "based on something about" the United States. I don't have that kind of time to waste if things are just going to speedy deleted by the Americans without even a discussion. Sorry to be blunt but I don't believe in "political correctness". Hey Pia... I'd been meaning to just drop-you-a-next-note in this new year and congratulate you on the exceptional work you've done on the Saint Kitts and Nevis articles... I cetainly have noticed..... and wow! I saw some of those talk pages last fall too.... Some people asking if your articles could be Featured articles... WOW. Go ahead you! You sure jumped right in and changed that around. I'm very proud of the work you have done... Keep up the fantastic work.
I must say the articles on SKN have taken a complete and total metamorphosis. I was only trying to keep them from being voted off for deletion until someone could come along and give them a little TLC. After you came along, I knew those articles were in good hands. :-) I don't think I'd go away barnone. I'd probably just limit what I do-- so that if things I do contribute to were get deleted off here, (because the article is about a small country) then I'm less likely to feel like I'm throwing away/wasting my time when I should be studying or working instead. CaribDigita 23:29, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi!
Say, I've recently found sources stating that it's (once again) likely that Barbados ( link, it's just a little note in the fourth paragraph, though) and Jamaica ( link, after the next general election) will become republics. Is there support for this in any of the other Caribbean Commonwealth Realms? Do you know more about these cases? Thanks! — Nightst a llion (?) 09:20, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Saint Lucia was going into Constitutional reform before (during the Kenny Anthony administration) but his party lost the recent election. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are also going into Constitutional reform as are Saint Kitts and Nevis. But to clarify. Those last three states. I haven't heard them make it a policy of severing ties with the Monarchy. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines + Saint Lucia though were *asking* the question-- as part of their Constitutional reform. However they didn't really state a position either way. Since the Queen doesn't really do anything there's no pressure to put it on the front burner. Most constitutions have vested all the power that Queen Elizabeth has into the Governor-General already. Meaning the Queen would have to take the position of over-riding a country's native-born Governor General and impose her own decision. Something not very likely. Lest the Queen touch off revolt all over the Commonwealth as a P.R. nightmare. CaribDigita 00:11, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. And it's good to see you back to being active. The project is luckily to have you around, but on a personal level it's always good to have a good friend around, and good to have someone who's judgment I trust completely. Once your name pops up on an edit I don't have to bother checking - I feel comfortable knowing the article has been improved. Guettarda 05:16, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Hey CaribDigita. Just wanna comment on the format you've swapped to over on the Grantley Adams Airport article. Now, there's nothing wrong with the destinations list you've updated, and it's great you've made it more accirate, but it can be accurate just the same in the uniform article format that the Airports WikiProject has come up with. The way you are presenting the airlines and destinations doesn't really match the way that the other hundreds of airline articles are presented on WP, and it kinda sticks out a bit. I'm not going to change it, but would you consider keeping the uniform format instead? Please reply on my page. Thank You. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 22:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Wow... that was a pretty long reply. I like what you've said though, especially about the format, maybe you can head over to WikiProject Airports and suggest this format to be placed for all airport articles? -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 05:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

All that would be needed would be to include the indigenous names for Cuba (Cubanacan or Coabana I think), Jamaica (Xaymaca), Hispaniola ("Haiti" and/or disputably "Quisqueya"), Puerto Rico (Borikén) and whatever indigenous names can be found for the various islands of the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos (together called the Lucayas) and the Virgin Islands. 72.27.161.159 ( talk) 02:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I have nominated Sheraton Centre (Barbados), an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sheraton Centre (Barbados). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Greetings. Your edits to the Fresh Pond article put the sequence of flow, which previously had been correctly stated, into an improper order. No one can be right all the time, but if I may offer "a word to the wise", please make very sure of your facts (preferably with reliable sourcing) before proceeding with changes so confidently and emphatically. Thank you for your many fine contributions to other articles. In the case of this one, I have put the water system back in its proper configuration. It's quite an ingenious system, and probably unusual. Hertz1888 ( talk) 05:48, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
