The following content was removed from the article's reception section on 12 February 2013, by an unregistered user:
The series has received negative criticism for its
gender roles, in particular the character of Mashiro Shiina being portrayed as a sexy, dependent pet.[1]
The stated motivation for removal was "A critique based on watching 1 episode of this series? seriously?" This implies some unspecified threshold in the 9-hour series, before which the opinion of a professional critic is not worthy of consideration. Such a barrier excludes almost all negative criticism, no matter how well justified. Obviously, someone who objects to the content should not be expected to watch the whole thing, but may still have interesting observations to make. I propose that the note be entered back into the article. --
