Hyperbeard games was founded in 2014. Its first game was the game "The Balloons", released in 2015. [1] It published the game Kleptocats in 2016, which gained enough success to have a web series directed by Platypus Animation, as well as a book and Funko Pops. [2]
In 2020, the Federal Trade Commission fined Hyperbeard 150,000 dollars for violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. It was found to market its apps to children and sell data to advertisers without federal consent. [3]
