The public holiday is on the first work day after the Christmas Day holiday. Most years this is 26 December, however if Christmas is on a Sunday, then the Proclamation Day holiday will be on Tuesday the 27th. If Christmas is on a Friday or Saturday, then the Proclamation Day holiday will be on the actual day (28th). Note that all formal ceremonies and celebrations occur on the 28th regardless of whether it's a public holiday.

Split?
Should the days be split? It is not like Queens Birthday which is one event observed on different days in different places, but a group of holidays that just happen to share a name.
