Events leading to the collapse

There should be a section on things that led to the collapse, including inspections that determined it was safe. Dismalscholar ( talk) 00:29, 8 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Reformat

Propose doing away with the format and provide a narrative account of the dam without being split by date. It is discouraging to insert data here that cannot be compartmentalized by date, particularly since there are many communities that are only belatedly reporting damage later. Mistranslation

It wasn’t a dam but what’d properly be called a levee or embankment - an earthen embankment on the river bank. Russian ”damba” can mean both but ”dam” in English is a narrower term, and thus a bit of a ”false friend” word. 95.193.146.155 ( talk) 16:51, 30 April 2024 (UTC) reply

After assessing the circumstances and the information available, it can only be a levee that has breached here, namely a river dike on the Ural river for flood protection. But not a dam. --- ProfessorX ( talk) 14:24, 4 July 2024 (UTC) reply
