Izhorsky Zavod →
Izhorskiye zavody — Although this is a single plant, the company name uses plural form. It should be discussed, what is the correct transliteration of the name as several variants exist. Google Finance uses Izhorskiye zavody; OMZ website uses both Izhorskiye Zavody and Izhorskie Zavody. In English media the most popular seems to be Izhora Plants, which is translation from Russian.

Support a move to Izhorskiye Zavody. English-language capitalization rules should be followed with proper names even if they are form another country. The company's own English-language website uses this form
[1] as do a number of other sources. Izhora Plants is also a common rendering and I could support that if there is evidence shown that this is significantly more
widely used (enough to override the company's own preference). — AjaxSmack 19:15, 9 August 2009 (UTC)reply
Beagel stated in the proposal: "In English media the most popular seems to be Izhora Plants", which would suggest that "Izhora Plants" should be used IAW
WP:COMMONNAME. Since
WP:RUS quite clearly states "A conventional name of a place is the name listed in major English dictionaries and should be preferred over romanization at all times.", that seems to be the name that we should use (providing that it's
verifiably true that is is the common name...) —

Comment. It seems I was wrong. Search "Izhorskiye Zavody" has far more matches by Google and Google News than search "Izhora Plants". I got this opinion from some media sources and did not checked by Google.

Pure Google hit counts are not definitive, though. You could be seeing hundreds of Wikipedia mirrors, for example (or any other large single source being copied or mirrored). You may be correct, but don't rely on simple counts based on a single (dumb as a brick) search engine program to make decisions for you. Note that the single reference given in the article uses "
Izhorskiye Zavody" (which is what AjaxSmack recommended, above) so, barring the introduction of additional (verifiable) references, that's what the title should be (As a matter of fact, since the name "Izhora Plants" is currently unreferenced it should technically be removed from the article as
WP:OR).21:37, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
If "Izhorsky Zavod" is indeed the name which has the most widespread use, then that should be easy to verifiably reference. What is currently referenced is the name "Izhorskiye Zavody", so that's what the article title should use (with alternatives presented in the lead). —
