This says "largest electoral district in the world." That's no doubt true in the way we normally think of things, but it's come to my attention that, for example, the Italian parliament has seats for Italian nationals living abroad, with the districts they represent encompassing entire continents. Do we reword or is this too nitpicky? -

Is it true to say that this is the largest electorate in the world electing a single member to a legislative body? If you include multi-member electorates, then Western Australia in the Senate is bigger. Is
Sakha in Russia and the Overseas electorate in the Italian Senate like this? --

Well, it shouldn't be impossible to ascertain this. The Division of Kalgoorlie is larger than all but 12 countries in the world, one of which is Australia itself. We also know that the DoK is larger than Nunavut (Canada's largest constituency) and
Alaska (the largest district in the
United States House of Representatives). The Italian overseas constituency should probably be disqualified because it's not a single-member district. On the other hand,
Sakha might be a single-member constituency; someone more familiar with Russian politics may be needed to help with this. --

Also, Kalgoorlie looks set to shrink to become fourth or fifth largest in Australia with a proposed O'Connor picking up most of its slack and becoming Australia's HoR's largest at a "mere" 1 587 759 km². Obviously this needs to be made official and even then I don't know whether the new boundaries take effect instantly in some sense or if they wait till the next election. —

Looks like Kalgoorlie will be abolished and replaced by Durack. Also redistributions take effect at general elections and by-elections, such as the
Canberra by-election, 1995, occur on old boundaries, although it was popularly known as the
Namadgi by-election.--
