The Commission is universally called the Costigan Commission. The official name is quite long-winded and is never used. Occasionally, a name along the lines of 'Costigan Commission into the Painters and Dockers Union' is used, but this has no official status and no standard form. Moreover, as the article explains, the Commission was far from merely investigating the union, so the official name is misleading.--
