Suggest a controversy section given the allegations Amber heard severed part of Johnny Depp's figure, lied about abuse, and struck him. This was reasonably important and is generating a lot of heat for Aquaman2.
Amber was recorded admitting to abuse and lying about him attacking her. Copies of the tape are widely circulated on the internet with (cumulatively) millions of views. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.127.17.241 ( talk) 12:41, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
Agreed. I have added a brief write up in the "sequel" section, where it probably belongs given it will mainly affect casting in the second film. Colliric ( talk) 14:46, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
Lol, some user immediately reverted my sourced edit instead of just plain admit there's significant controversy over her potential casting in the sequel. I mean everyone knows she is a domestic abuser. We all know there's no chance she is going to be in the sequel, lol. Colliric ( talk) 14:54, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
There is a dispute over which version of the poster is more appropriate for the article this one or this one? TriiipleThreat ( talk) 17:04, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
Please correct the cast section where you say the fisherman king and his family are motion capture, James already said it was make up ( https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/07/13/aquaman-fishermen-practical-effects/) you can see it ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ1YIS4s0Mw?t=66) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 181.142.212.85 ( talk) 01:43, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
The spear used by Aquaman's mother is described as a "trident", "trident" means literally "three teeth", this spear, however, has five tines so should be called a "quindent". 213.205.242.92 ( talk) 19:48, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
When Aquaman challenges his brother he holds a five pointed spear, the brother says, "I see that you have our mother's TRIDENT", one of several times it is referred to as such. I have actually seen the film. 213.205.242.12 ( talk) 19:22, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

The plot has a small error on the page. It isn’t another Russian sub that attacks Atlantis. It’s the one hijacked by the pirates. A scene later in the movie explains this when Orm King of Atlantis meets David the pirate on the beach “You gave me a barely working sub.” Orm tells David. 7373shaun ( talk) 07:53, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Both review aggregators (RT and Metacritic) indicate a purely mixed reception (64% and 55), as well as the review roundups in the sourced articles up top. Think it’s important to note the specifics of what was praised/criticized, as well as (but not just simply) put “mixed reviews from critics”, and leave the sources in lede. Thoughts/concerns? TropicAces ( talk) 04:01, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
So there was some discussion ... then TropicAces added a summary saying the reviews were mixed and summarized some of the complaints [2] but it got a bit verbose: "The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Wan's direction, the visual effects and performances, but criticized for its dialogue, runtime and plot." But for some weird reason and despite the above discussion that it was appropriate to say the reviews were mixed, that was replaced with the Critics consensus from Rotten Tomatoes? [3] So long that summary is properly sourced in the article body and complies with WP:FILMLEAD I think what TropicAces added (or slightly adjusted version) would be far better than repeating the Rotten Tomatoes summary right in intro. -- 109.76.146.100 ( talk) 17:06, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Change the "mixed reviews" to "generally favorable reviews from critics" Ashakkar66 ( talk) 16:03, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
I just saw the film earlier this evening and I was reading the article when I noticed three things that are incorrect, and should be updated. The errors exist in the following paragraph, and the first sentence of the paragraph after that.
Orm visits Arthur in captivity and announces that Atlanna was executed for the crime of having a half-breed son, blaming Arthur and the surface for her death. He offers Arthur an opportunity to leave forever, but Arthur instead challenges him to a duel in a ring of underwater lava. Orm gains the upper hand and nearly kills Arthur before Mera rescues him. Together, Arthur and Mera journey to the Sahara desert where the trident was forged and unlock a holographic message that leads them to Sicily, Italy, where they retrieve the trident's coordinates. Meanwhile, Orm provides David with a prototype Atlantean battle suit to kill Arthur, imprisons Vulko upon learning of his betrayal, and coerces the remaining kingdoms of Atlantis to pledge their allegiance to him and his campaign against the surface.
After modifying Orm's technology, a fully armored David rechristens himself as Black Manta and ambushes Arthur and Mera in Sicily, injuring Arthur before being thrown off a cliff to his apparent death.
I'm not requesting to change the whole thing. Just a couple of words in a few sentences. The changes (in bold) I propose or request are:
Orm has Arthur brought before him in chains, and announces Atlanna was executed for the crime of having a half-breed son, blaming Arthur and the surface for her death. Meanwhile, Orm provides David with a prototype Atlantean weapon to kill Arthur, imprisons Vulko upon learning of his betrayal, and coerces the remaining kingdoms of Atlantis to pledge their allegiance to him and his campaign against the surface.
After modifying Orm's prototype weapon into a battle suit, David rechristens himself as Black Manta and ambushes Arthur and Mera in Sicily, injuring Arthur before being thrown off a cliff to his apparent death.
As you can see, the changes are minor, but reflect what actually happened in the film. I would've made these minor changes myself, but the page is semi-protected. Aidensdaddy2k9 ( talk) 04:13, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Aquaman, known for being an absolutely horrible movie and Adam is right and Michael is wrong, is a 2018 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:18C:CA00:79E0:29B4:63C4:C37E:6CB6 ( talk) 01:24, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
The article states that Emilia Clarke plays the role of Mera in the Cast section, but I believe that Amber Heard plays that role. I have no authoritative source to demonstrate this, but the rest of the article (for example the section that states when cast members were announced, and the picture showing the cast on stage) seem to support Amber Heard. Furthermore, having watched the film, the actress does not appear to look like Emilia Clarke. 213.31.88.147 ( talk) 19:14, 3 March 2021 (UTC) Stuart Woodard
There seems to be a confusion with the production companies involved in the film, the credited are Peter Safran Productions and DC Films, as per the involvement of Walter Hamada. All DC based films released since Suicide Squad are produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, under the "DC Films" label. Although the Hollywood Reporter citation says DC Entertainment, its not credited anywhere in the film. While Variety credits only Peter Safran Productions, The Hollywood Reporter credits both DC Entertainment and Peter Safran Productions. Rupturestriker ( talk) 05:14, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
