Some of the information on this page is almost certainly wrong. Karridale is 300+ kilometers south of Dwellingup on the South West Coast (about level with Pemberton). The town is almost certainly Jarrahdale which *is* near Dwellingup. This article needs to be checked against paper records. Note that this does not preclude Karridale from having been burnt at this time but it would have been from the Pemberton fire *not* the Dwellingup fire.

Note also that there is no natural Karri within about 300 Km of Dwellingup ... and fire in that district would be in Jarrah / Marri forrest.

Part of the problem is that additional information was added to the article concerning the later and further south bushfires in February and early March 1961 which has made some of the prose slightly irrelevant with respect to the Dwellingup title. The latter of these fires certainly did destroy Karridale as the article says, but there are some factual errors as Steve has noted. I'll try to fix these.
good idea i say - Hobart/Tasmanian fires had sep arts and some genius combined the lot without any consult, so the fact that someone is talking here is good

Okay, done. Also, I can't imagine Jarrahdale residents would have been evacuated to Dwellingup, more likely to go to Rockingham or Armadale.
