Kirinia epaminondas is a Palaearctic [2] butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It was described by Otto Staudinger in 1887. [1]
Kirinia epaminondas occurs in the Amur Oblast and Primorsky Krai of the Russian Far East, [2] as well as in East China, Korea and Japan. [3] [1]
The habitat of K. epaminondas consists of dry, thin forests [4] and shrubby habitats. [1] Host plants include Brachypodium spp., [3] Poa ochotensis [3] and Poa angustifolia. [3]
Butterflies are on wing in July and August. [1]
