Gejlarat-e Sharqi Rural District ( Persian: دهستان گچلرات شرقي) [3] is in Aras District of Poldasht County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran. [4] Its capital is the village of Beyk Jan. [5]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the former Poldasht District of Maku County) was 6,578 in 1,445 households. [6] There were 7,268 inhabitants in 1,857 households at the following census of 2011, [7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Poldasht County. The rural district was transferred to the new Aras District. [4] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 6,854 in 1,911 households. The most populous of its 27 villages was Shahrak-e Aras, with 1,888 people. [2]
