The above discussion, which related to the wider unsuccessful proposal to merge the categories of "Russian immigrants", "Soviet immigrants" and "Imperial Russian immigrants" to a specific country into a single category of "Russian and Soviet immigrants" to that country, was prompted in part by the fact that many articles were incorrectly categorized among these categories. Following a review of the artcles in this category, a sister category, Category:Soviet immigrants to Romania, was created and certain articles recategorized to such category.
