It is situated in a distance of 45 km north from the capital of Antananarivo. 6 villages belong to the territory of the municipality: Avaratsena, Sahalemaka, Antanetimboahangy, Mahavanona, Avaratrimanarina, Ambatomanana, Ankodondona and Malaza. ^[2]
