head of state on 6–8 July—such circumstances ensuing only during a vacancy in the position of Federal President.
^His title changed from
Minister of State to Prime Minister on 17 February.
^The seven-member Swiss Federal Council is head of state and
government collectively. As a party to the Council, the president serves solely in a
primus inter pares capacity for one year.
