The Second City derby commenced on the first day of the season. Villa beat Birmingham 2β1 with goals from Reg Chester and Dicky York. [2] They drew 1β1 in December at St Andrews. [3]
In October Villa beat Leicester City 3-0 before a 45,000 crowd at Villa Park. [4]
