At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 315 in 64 households, when it was in the former
Baruq District of
Miandoab County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 291 people in 72 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 254 people in 73 households.[2]
In July 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Baruq County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with
Baruq as its capital and only city. The rural district was transferred to the new Nokhtalu District.[4]
