Wikipedia Takes the Subway is an event organized by
Wikimedia New York City. It involves taking photos of the
New York City Subway for subway stations articles without photos.
We are meeting in front of the four-faced clock on top of the information booth.
When
Watch this space for future possible changes. And please watchlist this page. Final details will be decided at the
New York City Meetup the day before.
Wikipedia Takes the Subway will be held on Monday
January 19,
2009. Since it is
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, most schools will be closed, and some workplaces as well.
We will meet at GCT at 9:00, come back for lunch at 1:00pm, and meet back at 4.
Photography
Please bring your own camera if you are participating.
Tripods and flash photography are not allowed by the
MTA. However a simple
string stabilizer can be very effective at improving shots and is very unobtrusive.
Hmm ... it's a holiday, so my son and I could stay over in NY. He'd love this. Let's see.

Possible
It depends; my mom constantly wants to know my whereabouts, and I'm 17! And on top of that, I need a camera. My friend's a subway buff, however, who has a camera. I'll see. —

Just realized that I could still possibly make it. I'll have to think more about it when we get closer to the event.

A good idea and I'd like to do this, I'm just a bit busy prior to the start of a new semester and might not have time. --

Regrets
I won't even be in the Tri-State area until June 2009. ----

As mentioned on the main NYC meetup page, by this time I will have already returned to Pittsburgh for school.
