Push for photos
Due to the current state of war, there are a considerable number of photographs online which can be uploaded to WikiCommons due to their being products of the US government, and thus not under copyright. I suggest that members of this project consider choosing a province, or group of people, and then search online for US-sourced images which can be uploaded to the Commons for said articles. One good way to narrow the search to such images is writing searches thus: "nangarhar site:*gov" or "faryab site:*mil" in GoogleImages, in order to restrict results to items on US .gov and .mil sites. Note also that Afghan copyright law is not recognised by the United States, so Afghan-initiated products may also be uploadable to the Commons. If anyone else is interested in this initiative, I suggest that you post below which topic you're searching on, to avoid multiple people trying to find pics of, say, Sar-e Pol province at the same time. I will update shortly after I pick a province.
