Improve road articles to at least B-standard. Steps can be seen below.
To provide balanced and accurate information on all issues relating to road transport in the UK.
Scope
The project covers all articles in
Category:Roads in the United Kingdom and its sub categories, legislation covering UK roads and road transport related organisations.
Recognised content
This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by
JL-Bot (
talk·contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself. If an article is missing from the list, make sure it is
tagged or
categorized (e.g.
Category:WikiProject UK Roads) correctly and wait for the next update. See
WP:RECOG for configuration options.
A route box, showing the junctions of the roads and the roads which intersect the motorway at these junctions.
A history into the road, informative, well-written and
reliably sourced.
A
NPOV, well-written article, without
trivia that can not be integrated.
If all five of these checkpoints can be achieved, the article is at a standard comparable to B-class. If one is missing, it is best at Start-class, while if two or more are, then it is a
stub.
Road sign colours
The recommended RGB colours for British road signs have been published in a Department for Transport document[1] The hex equivalents of the values quoted are given below as a reference for any editors:

Any editor who is unsure of how to use these codes can of course look at the underlying code.

MapsMan (
talk·contribs) - I would really be a part-time editor. Pages on Motorways are generally something I look at from time to time, and I'm always looking to improve any page I read on Wikipedia. Thus, I am a de facto member of any Wikiproject encompassing a subject area of my interest.
Sunil060902 (
talk·contribs) - based in London, so best placed to contribute to roads in and around the Capital
Hmich176 (
talk·contribs) - Based in the USA, but I try to contribute to articles on a worldwide scale. I can copy edit and do basic research on articles.
Rcsprinter123 (
talk·contribs) - most places, but especially the north west. Can be contacted to make maps and road signs
Patch1969 (
talk·contribs) - Focusing on Managed Motorways and Motorways in general across Greater Manchester and the North West.
Gweglez (
talk·contribs) - Very interested in roads, the details and irregularities of them, particularly motorways that aren't actually up to motorway standards. Based in Hampshire so most of my edits will be around there.
RichardHC (
talk·contribs) - Based in
Cheshire, current focus is on making motorway junction infoboxes more legible.
Roads4117 (
talk·contribs) - As you can probably tell with my username, I am very keen and interested in roads, andI would love to become part of the team. I am based in southeast London, and normally edit road articles in London, Yorkshire, and North East England, however I can help out wherever is needed. Also, like
Rcsprinter123 (
talk·contribs) said earlier, I am more than happy to be contacted to make maps and road signs.
