Motions and requests by the parties

Motion for "stay of proceedings"

1) Please see my comments at User talk:Pat8722#Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Pat8722, which redirects to my comments at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Pat8722#Statement by party 3 (pat8722), which requests that this matter be be placed "on hold" until the present extraordinary time demands on me (six active court cases in state court) abate, as without a stay I will be unable to participate, to resulting harm. I have agreed therein not to edit Wikipedia in the interim. Thank you for your consideration. pat8722 00:00, 28 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Comment by Arbitrators:
As you do not seem to be editing actively, I consider this reasonable. Fred Bauder 13:01, 29 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Motion for Clarification

1) I have found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Pat8722#evidence the statement that "Should Pat8722 return to active editing and edit warring without notifying the Arbitration Committee and resolving the matters at issue in this case, he may be blocked for an appropriate period of time." I request clarification as to what is meant by "active editing". Am I correct in understanding that arbcom is asking me to refrain only from actively editing "articles" prior to my resolving the matters at issue in this case, and is not referring to talk page correspondence? I have been trying to check-in with wikipedia at least every couple of weeks to see if matters are placed on my talk page for response, however I have not, and do not, plan to return to actively editing articles until my state (and soon to be federal) court cases are resolved, and the matters at issue in this arbcom case are resolved. Thank you. (forgot to add my tag, this motion was made on "01:44, 6 November 2006" by Pat8722)

Comment by Arbitrators:
I would not view occasional responses on your own talk page to be active editing. Editing articles, policy pages, or their talk pages is active editing. Fred Bauder 16:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC) reply

Motion for Clarification and Motion for Procedure

@) Please explain the difference between "active editing" and editing. I believe I construed the sentence at " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Pat8722#evidence i.e. "Should Pat8722 return to active editing and edit warring without notifying the Arbitration Committee and resolving the matters at issue in this case, he may be blocked for an appropriate period of time" to mean that arbcom had concluded I had not returned to "active editing" by merely responded to talk posts on my discussion page, and that when I do return to active editing (i.e.significant or repeated edits of articles) I must notify Arbcom and resolve the matters at issue. Your clarification would be appreciated. Also, what is the procedure for notifying Arbcom when I have returned to active editing? Thank you. pat8722 02:13, 20 November 2006 (UTC) reply

Comment by Arbitrators:
Please limit your editing to your own talk page. When you want to return send emails to one or more arbitrators or to arbcom-l Fred Bauder 16:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC) reply

History of edit warring

2) Pat8722 has a history of edit warring, Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Pat8722/Evidence#Edit_warring. He attempts to justify his edit warring at User_talk:BorgHunter/Archive_4#requesting_explanation_for_unfounded.2C_unexplained_block_.28made_in_violation_of_blocking_policy.29.

Wikibreak

3) Following extensive edit warring at Temporomandibular joint disorder Pat8722 has not edited extensively or edit warred for a month. Citing outside conflicts he has undertaken to not edit pending resolution of this matter and requested a continuance, Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Pat8722/Workshop#Motion_for_.22stay_of_proceedings.22.
