The result of the debate was delete. Anyone is welcome to replace the deleted pages with a message as described below. Note that I'm leaving the redirects in place for now to make it easier to replace the pages with a notice. While these lists may have been useful back in 2004 when Wikipedia was just getting established, they are now a sprawling and obsolete mess that are not useful for cataloging and maintaining free content in light of the commons. Delete -- Peta 00:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC) reply

Basically: all pages listed here. I would suggest starting a CFD for the category and subcategories of Category:Wikipedia image galleries (excluding Category:User page galleries) after this MFD is closed (and if it's closed as delete, of course). Having two discussions on the same topic in two different places is a bad idea, and the CFD can be made as a merely procedural motion. There are no angry category-filling mastadons. Keep but blank - There are a huge number of incoming links to this page and subpages. Rather than simple deletion which would be a shock to people expecting a gallery of images, we should replace these pages with a notice saying how to search for stuff in commons categories. For an example, see what was done with WP:PAIN. — Dgies^t
