This isn't an essay and shouldn't be labeled as such. This is another in a line of creations by
Siuenti as seen
here and
here. Chris Troutman (

The applicable bit being "not substantive enough"?

Siuenti: It would reflect well upon you if after looking at the response from the community in regard to your essays at this and the other two mfds mentioned above, you realized that they've been found inappropriate as
projectspace essays and subsequently stopped creating or moving them there. One contributor has already
suggested a topic ban, something which I'm not a fan of, but others feel differently about. You may find yourself in that boat if this continues and lands
elsewhere. That's
my two cents. I can offer you advice about writing an essay and point you to good examples of them if you would like. Best Regards, —

I would like to offer this piece of advice about talk page discussions: please remember you are not infallible, so answer the question please. I would be interested in seeing other discussions where this question of substantially was addressed.

The definition of
WP:Essay given by the tag appears to be "...containing the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors". I believe I count as "one or more Wikipedia contributors", and this is my advice to the rest of them.

Delete This essay is comprised of a single line, "Wikipedians should remember that they are not infallible", with a link to
Wikipedia:Editors will sometimes be wrong. What is the need for this essay when that longstanding one (creation date 2008, I see in history) expresses the same sentiment in a much better manner?

Would you be happy with a redirect from this title to that essay?

You can improve an article while AfD is underway but I don't think you can create a redirect once it's already at MfD. Let's wait for the discussion to end. Chris Troutman (

Delete. Yet another useless page created by an essay spammer that floods Wikipedia with silly pages erroneously marked as "essays". A topic ban for Siuenti should be in order.—

Where would I find the definition of a
Wikipedia essay so I know what one looks like?

Delete No useful advice. Linking to this page would just be a way of deflecting disagreement in a discussion (I make an assertion; you disagree; I link to WP:Infallible to imply you are wrong and are merely disagreeing because you think you are infallible—not helpful).
