Wikipedia Loves Libraries is an event to promote local meetups for discussing libraries in individual cities. Wikipedia depends on content from media sources, and libraries are the source of sources. At this Seattle meetup, one of the topics to be discussed is the extent to which the Wikipedia articles for libraries in Seattle are descriptive enough about the collections contained in each library.
This project is part of the larger Wikipedia
WP:GLAM project, which promotes galleries, libraries, archives, and museums. More information about Wikipedia Loves Libraries is
here.
Here is an incomplete list of libraries and organizations which house libraries in Seattle. Please add more. Also, feel free to contact any of these to get sources of information about their collections and history.
Who wants to improve the articles for each of these? Who can contact any of these libraries to get annual reports, ask about media coverage, or otherwise get sources which can be referenced in their Wikipedia articles?

Intro to Wikipedia
Meeting other Wikipedians; considering possibilities for collaboration
Adding descriptions of the collections to every library's Wikipedia page. Even the Wikipedia entry for the Seattle Public Library, the major public city library, gives very little information about the library collection itself. Is the information which is already here sufficient, or should more be said?
Geekdiva (
talk·contribs), Capitol Hill. I'm currently working through multiple backlogs while trying to prevent the stress from making my health get worse, so I probably can't make it this time, but I hope to in the future.
Haruo (
talk·contribs), Skyway/Belltown. I work evenings Tuesdays through Fridays; if such an event were held on a Monday, or around noon, I would probably attend. If it were monthly, I would probably attend at least half the time if it proved enjoyable.
Michael Snow (
talk·contribs), Kirkland. Sorry I wasn't able to come, I had a conflict with a work function. If future meetups are planned, I will try to attend.
Review
Seven people attended the event and everyone seemed to have had an enjoyable and productive time. I want to do this every month and am going to start creating monthly events.
