International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th in many countries, and there are
edit-a-thons planned around the world on this day. Wikipedians in the
San Francisco Bay Area are invited to an edit-a-thon at the
Wikimedia Foundation on Sunday, March 8th. Come join the fun and be a part of something amazing, whether you're a new or experienced editor, and feel free to bring a friend! If you don't know anything about how to edit Wikipedia, other editors will teach you, and we will all learn more together. Remote participants are also welcome.
As a part of
WikiWomen's History Month, this event is one of many around the world that aims to engage more women to edit Wikipedia, and to improve coverage about women on Wikipedia.
Participants: This event is open to anyone interested in improving coverage related to women on Wikipedia. No wiki editing experience is necessary, and support will be on hand to help you out! Female editors are specifically encouraged to attend. Can't be there the whole time? No problem, join us as long or as little as you can.
If you cannot make it to San Francisco in person, but would still like to participate, you are more than welcome to do so remotely. Sign up below, and please add any outcomes below. We will have Google Hangout set up so you can "drop by" and say hi.
Suggestions
Here are a few suggested articles to create or improve during this edit-a-thon, but you are welcome to work on anything you like. Please note: this is a crowdsourced list; you can help us by adding to it. Women-focused subjects please, from around the world.
