Around 40 people attended (50/50 Smithsonian staff and non-staff) and participated in a new editor training session. Non-staff attendees included Wikimedians, students, and interested members of the public.
At least seven new user accounts were created.
A number of new users had in-depth discussions with experienced Wikimedians about issues related to conflict of interest, an important topic for professionals working in cultural heritage and scholarly institutions.
This event was made possible through the generosity of the
Smithsonian Institution Libraries, who provided the space, technology, communications and logistical support, AND coffee, beverages, breakfast, and afternoon sweets.
Wikimedia DC generously provided lunch to all participants, and key members of the chapter presented, shared their expertise, their energy, and their time. Special thanks goes to
Slowking4 and
Djembayz for their patience, enthusiasm, and willingness to share their expertise.
