As i'll be in Ireland from the 29th of May 'til end June, May would be nice for me..and for the Location: somewhere im Schöneberg or Mitte, perhaps?
Add your ideas below
Cheers
I would suggest to choose a place with a good / free WiFi connectivity. We may want to access the wiki.
May is ok for me. I'm not available on monday and thursday evenings. Everything else is negotiable. ;) I would suggest Tuesday, May 9, 2006. 19:00 Uhr / 7 p.m - just to have a first date to agree on, or to modify. --
Ravn 13:23, 29 March 2006 (UTC)reply
Schöneberg or Mitte is fine by me... also (ab 19:00 Uhr) sounds good.. let me know
IsarSteve 15:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)reply
Just get sure to fix the date anytime soon, I will have to take a holiday and tell my boss soon enough. May 9th sounds good btw. --
e-user 19:25, 29 March 2006 (UTC)reply
Thanks for your input. The date's fine by me, and as I don't own a portable PC I don't mind if a connectivity is given or not, so the choice is yours...perhaps something near the Goltzstr./Akazienstr. or Pappelallee?
Lectonar 15:32, 31 March 2006 (UTC)reply
There's the Cafe Bilderbuch at Akazienstr. 28. I don't know if it's got WiFi, but it's got a nice atmosphere and lots of old-fashioned information storage (i.e. books). -- Ravn
Ravn 16:21, 31 March 2006 (UTC)reply
To me that location would be just perfect - 10 minutes be feet, 2 by bus. --
e-user 14:21, 4 April 2006 (UTC)reply
Just fix a date. Since I'm in Berlin rather scarcely, I'll have to try and make ends meet anyway. My notebook does not offer wireless connectivity, I'd preferrably not bring it. Any place is fine with me, unless loud & hectic :-) --

Suggested date, time, location
Apparently we can agree to fix the meeting on Tuesday,
May 9, 2006 - 7 p.m. - 19:00 Uhr at the Cafe Bilderbuch, Akazienstraße 28,
Berlin.
Don't we? ;) --
Ravn 16:36, 5 April 2006 (UTC)reply
Yep, we do :)))
Lectonar 11:59, 6 April 2006 (UTC)reply
Btw, how do we recognize each other; perhaps something akin to
The Ministry of Silly Walks, or mumbling "wiki,wiki,wiki..."? And will we need a reservation?
Lectonar 16:24, 12 April 2006 (UTC)reply
You'd probably look for a bunch of people which, when reading the books on display, grumble about the lack of linkage and desperately search for the "edit this page" button. How about putting a Wikipedia-banner on the table?
I don't think that a reservation will be necessary. But it won't hurt either. Will you take care of this? --
Ravn 14:40, 20 April 2006 (UTC)reply
I will; being optimistic, I'll make it for 5 persons...will you come in waving a wiki-flag, to be instantly recognizable? ;))
Lectonar 14:48, 21 April 2006 (UTC)reply
SO, I made a reservation under "wikipedia" (ain't I witty:))
I will be there, since Lectonar as well
invited the users, who are primary active in the de-wikipedia.--
Berlin-Attorney 15:02, 8 May 2006 (UTC)reply
I know I said I probably wouldn't be able to come, and the looming date of my Habilitationsvortrag really ought to be dissuading me, but I'm so darn curious to meet you all in person... maybe I'll come after all. No promises yet, but don't be too surprised if I show up after all.

By the way, we are talking about Akazienstraße in
Schöneberg, not
Lichterfelde, aren't we?
P.S.: I'll bring a flag --

This first meetup of the en-wikipedia users living in Berlin, with ample presence from de-wikipedia users, was thought of as a (and turned out to be) meeting just to get to know each other...insofar there was no preordained schedule. We left at around 10pm; and it was loosely spoken of another meetup in the future.
P.S.: There's a blog entry (only in German for now) on
MySpace by me.
I´m sorry I missed it- please inform me if you ever get together again. I´d like to be there
IsarSteve 20:03, 10 May 2006 (UTC)reply
Although I split early, I quite enjoyed meeting everybody. Hope nobody was too upset by the presence of so many de-wikipedians ;-) Why not keep the thing going on a (more or less) regular basis? --
Rainer Lewalter 20:17, 10 May 2006 (UTC)reply
ACK. But as you can see, everyone who was there has an EN user account. Consider us as mainly-DE-Wikipedians or maybe as "DE challenged"

Second Meetup
Suggested date, time, location
Suggestion: Monday, August 7, 2006 - 7 p.m. - 19:00 Uhr -- location: Schleusenkrug (see link below), in the Tiergarten.
Bad news here: after having tried to make a reservation by phone for days (and getting no connection), I went there yesterday, and lo: the Cafè Bilderbuch is closed, at least until the 15th...so we need a new meeting-place. Thoughts, anyone?Lectonar 05:27, 31 July 2006 (UTC)reply
I'd prefer the
Brotfabrik, since they are already set for Wikipedians... (per me)

Looks pretty JWD to me...
User:Angr 07:24, 31 July 2006 (UTC)reply
Depends; if you live in Weissensee, it is JND or perhaps even UDE; btw, I'd prefer another one in the Akazienstr.
Lectonar 07:29, 31 July 2006 (UTC)reply
How about the
Schleusenkrug? It's a nice location for indoors and outdoors and easy to reach (close to
Zoo station). --
Ravn 15:28, 1 August 2006 (UTC)reply
(edit conflict)Me three; do we need a reservation, and if yes: could you take care of it
Ravn?

Actual participants
were just Sarazyn and me. We had a nice chat between a dewiki and an enwiki admin, but we should really plan our next meeting a bit better and make sure some more people actually go there.
