There are a few people writing things on
Dravidian people which does not talk about the topic in general. Instead, a majority of the article talks about another group of people called the
Indo Aryans of northern India. This has nothing to do with the topic on Dravidian people and should be posted on another page. I have posted a map to where the Dravidians are located in South Asia, along with some pictures showing similarities between Dravidians and Australian aboriginals. All these pics were taken off. I have also posted some discussions in regards to this issue on Dravidian people talk page
Talk:Dravidian people with little progress. Instead, I get accused of being Afro-centric for posting a couple of pics. Instead, one of the users posted a pic which had nothing to do with Dravidian people. Below it was labelled "Indus Valley Seals. The first one shows a
Swastika". There is a high tendency amongst a few people to discredit the Dravidian people of southern India and scattered in other parts of India. Furthermore, this page
Dravidian people does not talk about the Dravidian people and their cultural heritage. As a person belonging to one of these Dravidian groups, I have found it offensive when someone posted in the "Mythological" section of the article that the Tamil
Sangamliterature is a lore and a fiction. Sadly, this has turned into a propganda page filled with offensive information discrediting Dravidians for their existence.
What would you like to change about that?
I have already posted a "neutrality/factual accuracy" dispute tag, and an "article cleanup" tag on the page. What I would to change about this is to clean up this page from unrelated, biased, and POV information. Furthermore, I have suggested on the
Talk:Dravidian people talk page to form a Dravidian project group to work on articles dealing with the Dravidian family of ethnicities and languages in South Asia. This will focus on ethnicity, linguisitcs, dance, arts, religions, ways of life, and roots of the Dravidians. So far, on Wikipedia, there has not been much info on the Dravidian groups. I have went to the extent to create a page for Dravidian martial arts, Tamil martial arts, and certain Dravidian dances. This department on Dravidian heritage needs more attention and much work to be done. However, I will refuse to get into an edit war. So please, if you can help that would be great.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Which ever works best.
