Can someone make A) convert
File:Umichigan color seal.png to a vector image, then B) Make a duplicate of the UM seal as a vector image but replace 1817 with "Dearborn" in the same font as "The University of Michigan"? The colors should be #00274C and #FFCB05 per both
universitywebsites. Thanks, -- 🎓 Corkythehornetfan 🎓

Many people send a logo to Wikimedia for use in an article, and I process a fair number of these requests. In some cases, the the logo has a black background, which is not desired. I don't think I've seen this with a.jpg file but it occasionally happens with a.PNG file. The typical sequence is that they provide an attached file, which I download and open in IrfanView to reduce the resolution. I then upload the resulting file to Wikipedia.
See
this page in upper left, to see what it should look like.
I would like to learn how to convert the black background to white. My current process is to tell the provider of the logo that there was a problem with a logo and they often provide a JPEG file, but I'd like to learn how to correct the problem myself. --

I am working to broaden the appeal of this wikiproject, which was discussed by Jimmy Wales in
a newspaper article in January. The existing logo (above left) is very unappealing, and the project would benefit from something slightly more professional. A couple of my ideas are shown in the images above, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know what is easily achievable.

Some more ideas from the internet are below. I can't upload these for copyright.
I actually made an SVG of the yin-yang emblem some time ago (now uploaded). Filling the handshake image with the flags should be relatively easy, as it is an SVG. The collaboration image will be harder, being a JPG, but probably doable by someone experienced with Photoshop or a similar raster editing program.

This is great, thank you! I've added a couple of further ideas above. I'm concious that i'll need to get consensus from the wikiproject for whichever logo we propose. Which do you think will look the best?
The figures building the puzzle globe is a great idea, and the only that is about collaboration and building the encyclopedia rather than Israeli-Palestinian peace in general. I don't have the raster editing skills to put in the flags, though some other people here, at
WP:GL/PHOTO, in some of
these categories, or even the
image's
original creator probably do.

I'd like to suggest that we transform the four maps above to a single animated one, similar to the EU expansion map (also above). --

Thank you very much. There's one a little something missing: like in that EU expansion animation, the Cro-Magnon gif should display the years (maybe in the upper left corner). --

I've made the text adjustment (it may take a day for the server to catch up) - but you'd erase the old text and input the new one from the MS word -

Note that the Phyrgian cap in the first image has blue trim with the word "LIBERTY" written on it. This should also be present in the SVG. Thanx.
