File:MuchMusic logo.png ( delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by MatthewGoodfan101 ( notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

A PNG copy of File:MuchMusic logo.svg, which was previously deleted for violating WP:NFCC#8. As WP:NFC#cite_note-4 dictates, The use of historical logos for an entity is not allowed, unless the historical logo itself is described in the context of critical commentary about that historical logo. This logo is being used in Much (TV channel)#Sale to Bell (2006–present) without any critical commentary to justify its inclusion under policy. Ə XPLICIT 13:09, 22 September 2019 (UTC) reply

File:YouTube Red Diamond Play Button.svg ( delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by ABCHASE123 ( notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

ABCHASE123 uploaded an image on September 12. Saucy uploaded a similar image with a different background to Commons under the same name on September 21. This user listed several variants at c:File:YouTube Red Diamond Play Button.svg#fileinfotpl_ver, none of which looks like the version uploaded to English Wikipedia. LABcrabs on September 22 uploaded the version from Commons over the one on English Wikipedia.

Between license and version history, I don't have a clue what's going on here. I'm declining the speedy deletion nomination on grounds that all versions are not transferred to Commons. I'm bringing to discussion in case someone wants to contest it. Magog the Ogre ( t c) 16:24, 22 September 2019 (UTC) reply

@ Magog the Ogre: Yeah, it's a little complicated, I'll try my best to explain it. The different play buttons all represent the different YouTube Creator Awards. YouTube recently introduced the Red Diamond play button, which is essentially a recolored Diamond play button. ABCHASE123 initially uploaded this locally. Since it is a free file, I transferred it to Commons but with a darker background, because it is more representative of what it actually looks like. While I waited for the local copy to be deleted, LABcrabs uploaded the version on Commons over here, so transclusions would use the newer version. Hopefully it's a little more clear now; I would suggest deleting the local copy so we can use the Commons version. Saucy talkcontribs 17:35, 22 September 2019 (UTC) reply
I support Saucy's version on the Commons, and yes, my sole purpose in replacing the version here is so that Saucy's version shows up on Wikipedia. It's okay to delete the file here. The Commons file will show up once the Wikipedia file is deleted, so nothing will be broken. -- LABcrabs ( talk) 23:22, 23 September 2019 (UTC) reply
