  • Keep The photo, which appears on an official website of the U.S. government, is credited to Dana Barciniak. Barciniak, in turn, has been credited in mainstream media as affiliated with the Office of Photography of the U.S. House of Representatives (e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4]). The combination of the appearance of the photo on a .gov website and the known employment of the photographer for the U.S. government would strongly suggest this is a PD image. • Speedy KeepThe link is alive and fully functional. The image itself is in a dynamic, scrolling show at the link provided and the direct link [5] does not demonstrate PD status. Only the current, alive and functional link, can be used to demonstrate PD status, which it does. Chetsford ( talk) 06:48, 5 December 2018 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: deleted as it is now on Commons but @ Chetsford: for future reference, you need to link to the actual article, not just the image itself. The Army, like other places in the US government, uses AP photos or "courtesy photos", which might not be public domain. I will make the appropriate changes to the Commons description page. -- B ( talk) 01:05, 13 December 2018 (UTC) reply

A copyrighted coat of arms, unlikely to be own work B dash ( talk) 08:42, 5 December 2018 (UTC) reply

  • Speedy Keep Yes, this image is my own work. I, the creator and copyright holder, have properly released it to the commons under WP:FDL as evidenced by the upload file. Nominator has provided no evidence to the contrary other than a declaration of his personal belief that I - the creator and uploader - am insufficiently competent in the use of computer aided drawing to create a very simple image ("unlikely to be own work"). The textual description of the image, on which this drawing was made, is also not in copyright as it was published in 1904 [6] (actually several hundred years earlier but for ease of reference I'm using the 1904 source). Non-free poster art being used in a decorative manner in the Uncle Tupelo#Breakup. Although there is some content about the band's final tour in the article subsection, there is no sourced critical commentary related to the poster art itself so the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is not really being provided. If the final tour was Wikipedia notable enough for a stand alone article to be written about it, then this could be used for primary identification purposes in said article; however, there is currently no such article and there is no content specific to the poster art itself which justifies the file's use in the band article. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 11:16, 19 November 2018 (UTC) reply

  • Keep Comment The poster itself, especially the prominent and facetious claim "St. Louis' 4th best country band", was discussed in contemporary and historical sources in the context of the final tour (presumably the Wilco bio and the Jeff Tweedy memoirs, although I have access to neither, so I can't verify). The final tour has been discussed quite extensively in historical accounts as it became part of Wilco and Son Volt lore. I disagree with the stand-alone notability criterion; in the context of a featured article finding the right place for such a coverage strikes me as an editorial decision. Since I don't have the time or inclination to unearth the (pre/early www) sources I'm not offering a !vote, but the fair use is certainly sourceable. | Update The poster is discussed on page 85 in Greg Kot's Wilco bio. | Update Sourced discussion added. ~ trialsanderrors ( talk) 12:13, 19 November 2018 (UTC) reply
  • Delete. The nonfree poster is used only to illustrate a brief textual phrase appearing on it, and that phrase is perfectly conveyed by text alone. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. ( talk) 14:08, 20 November 2018 (UTC) reply

File:Wesley college logo.jpeg ( delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Iamheentity ( notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This is a non-free logo that fails WP:NFCC#10a and WP:NFCC#10c. The lack of a fair use rationale is fixable. But there is no source provided for this logo. I can find no official web site for the college to confirm that this is indeed the logo. The logo is almost identical to this college logo. Without a valid source, this logo cannot be validated for use as means of identification for the college. Whpq ( talk) 14:40, 19 November 2018 (UTC) reply
