Original –
Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord (1754–1838), a French bishop and politician. He served as Napoleon's chief diplomat, but worked for peace and later oversaw the return of Napoleon's conquests. He was an important part of the
Congress of Vienna which ended the wars, and later served as Prime Minister of France.
Reason
Good, high resolution painting of an important French politician.
Support – Famous not only for his official roles, but also for his cynicism and variable allegiances. (Cartoon, lower right)
