WikipedianProlific ( talk · contribs) Hi everyone, I'm applying for this editor review hopefully preceeding a request for admin status in the coming month or two. I've been fairly active on wikipedia for over a year now mostly in articles relating to biology, chemistry and history. Primarily however I draw pictures and diagrams rather than edit text. I now have about 25 diagrams up here on wikipedia of which 3 are featured. As a result of this I have a very low mainspace edit count. This is because drawing a diagram can take over 10-12 hours, however, it only takes one edit to upload it to the wiki and another to add it to a page. I'm worried about how this will be percieved at an RfA, as I see many editors are still basing their judements centrally on edit counts. Although I participate in the AfD and IfD debate I wonder if there other areas I could (and maybe should) be participating in? I had some extremely useful admin coaching from User:Rama's Arrow, however, he was resently desysopped following a lengthy arbitration hearing. We exchanged about 20,000 words via email over the course of a 2 month period. It was a shame to see him desysopped but I think seeing the process of arbitration (twice in fact) and its effects on people was useful. Thanks for your constructive comments, I look forward to hearing them. WikipedianProlific (Talk) 10:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC) reply

  • Very good over all, nice job with the graphics they looked great. One thing you might want to try to use the preview button more, making 34 revisions is a row to the same article is a bit odd. Also if you want to become an administrator I would recomend becoming a little bit more active in vandal fighting (install twinkle it really helps a lot). -Icewedge 15:04, 16 July 2007 (UTC) reply

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
My proudest accomplishments I think are probably my 3 featured pictures, they can be found [1], [2] and [3]. I was pleased with them because I felt they really added something to the pages in which they were included, and really took the level of content to another level. To have my efforts rewarded with a featured picture status was wonderful, and to see your artwork on the front page of wikipedia, a site visited by so many was just mind blowing.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Sadly every once in a while I do end up in a conflict, I think for most of us who spend a lot of time here its unavoidable. I have an ongoing one at the moment with User:Cuddlyable3. Generally however I tend to walk away from discussions that would bring out a bad side of me, when I can't do this I try to argue my point politely and sensibly refering to policy where possible. I hope to continue to do this in the future as generally it seems to work well.
