Speedy Deletion (

This was formerly a
WP:XNR to
Wikipedia:Deletion policy and probably
Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and I'd wandered if the likes of
Articles for deletion should redirect to
Deletionism and inclusionism in Wikipedia where it is discussed. However recently an even more suitable article at
Deletion of articles on Wikipedia has been created and
Articles for deletion was re created as a redirect there per
Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2021 October 9 . I therefore propose we do the same for
Speedy deletion as well as perhaps
Proposed deletion . Note that the RFD was "Speedy D eletion" (capital D) but lower case
Speedy deletion should exist with the appropriate tags and categories etc. I'm aware of the arguments for and against keeping XNRs such as
WP:PANDORA but if we have an article discussing the project page redirecting to it seems appropriate. I'd also note that if you search for Speedy Deletion currently you get results such as articles that are currently nominated for speedy deletion which isn't that useful and therefore has some of the issues with CNRs anyway though the
Deletion of articles on Wikipedia does show up 1st.

Unsalt - I feel like it's reasonably uncontentious to allow unsalting to redirect it to an actual article.

Unsalt . As long as
Deletion of articles on Wikipedia remains unchallenged in mainspace, redirects to it of this sort should be allowed to exist. The original reason for deleting,
WP:XNR and
WP:R#DELETE bullet #6, does not apply here, but to be clear, XNRs from mainspace are still unacceptable and the history should remain deleted.

I'd also note that
Speedy delete exists and
Speedy Delete was kept at
Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 September 9#Speedy Delete though these redirects should have been included in the 2016 RFD for "Speedy deletion" which would have resulted in deletion. These should probably be retargeted to
Deletion of articles on Wikipedia and if that article is deleted we should probably change them to
Deletionism and inclusionism in Wikipedia .

There is also
Criteria for Speedy Deletion that exists but
Criteria for speedy deletion is salted.

Clearly, the first one has just not been noticed before and should be deleted, but left available for recreation as a mainspace redirect. The second one should be unsalted.

Overturn Salting . The application of protection was excessive, both in level and duration. --

(involved — contr. to the Deletion article) Overturn salting per all above.
Deletion of articles on Wikipedia changes things significantly. All such terms (including
Criteria for speedy deletion ) should target this article.
