  • This appears to be a Wikipedia mirror but has dates in 2009 in it. I can't see if it was previously deleted.-- NortyNort (Holla) 08:17, 18 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned, still needs a history purge to remove original copyvio. Text copied from a copyrighted wiki. NortyNort (Holla) 08:39, 18 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • No copyright concern. False positive. Another IMDb false positive from the same user. No text shows in the DD but I believe the cast list may be triggering something. Articles are stubs too. NortyNort (Holla) 08:50, 18 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Cut and paste move, I placed a tag to have the histories merged.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:12, 18 May 2011 (UTC) reply

Copyright investigations (manual article tagging)
The link is a copy of our article of about March 2010. Our article was called "Inhalant" prior to April 2010, and its contents have been built up piecemeal by numerous contributors, not created in a single lump which may have come from an external source.
A external link search for www.tititudorancea.com shows that a number of articles copied from Wikipedia are now being used as references within those Wikipedia articles. This needs to be cleaned up.- gadfium 01:49, 17 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • No copyright concern. Agreed, and at the bottom of the web page text, it states "Source: Wikipedia". Their terms are clear about the licensing as well. I don't think I should mark the talk page with a backwardscopy tag as Wikipedia is attributed.-- NortyNort (Holla) 08:41, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • The copyvio was added herein August 2010. One user tried to fix it here but there is still a bit of close-paraphrasing to be cleaned. I cleaned some out, not sure how foundational it is. The problem is confined to the "Description" section.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:06, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. Completed the rewrite. I removed the information on when molting occurs because I'm not sure how reliable that source is and snippet views (curse them!) of various books contradicted it. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:56, 26 May 2011 (UTC) reply
There is an acknowledgement at the bottom of the article right before the listing of the Categories that... " Public Domain This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain Chisholm, Hugh, ed. (1911). Encyclopædia Britannica (11th ed.). Cambridge University Press. {{ cite encyclopedia}}: Missing or empty |title= ( help)"
Regardless of that statement, for Wikipedia's purposes the article is virtually unsourced and contains only one inline citation. Shearonink ( talk) 05:38, 18 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • I can't see the whole 1911 article and of the sources given, I found one instance of close paraphrasing. Nothing else in searches.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:22, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
See Talk:Nathaniel Brassey Halhed - it is a paraphrase of a whole book by Rosane Rocher, verbose and done in a somewhat clunky style. While close in parts, I think I have cleaned it up with some success. Charles Matthews ( talk) 06:10, 11 March 2017 (UTC) reply
  • User:Fernandosmission has engaged in chronic copy and paste copyright violations. I have spent some time investigation this user's work, and while I believe the user has made many useful contributions, I continue to find issues with newly created articles from this user. User was previously warned on their Talk Page about copying and pasting, and agreed to stop, however has continued since that time to add prose that is only slightly altered from the source text. I have placed a one week block on the User, and have investigated most of the issues previously listed on the User's Talk page and they seem to have been resolved, however I request assistance with checking more recent work from the user, specifically dating from March 11 to the present time. I do not have time today to continue with this so I request more help from other editors. Best regards, Evilphoenix Talk 19:19, 17 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Hi. I just happened to notice this one early. It's unusual that these are actually even looked at until a week after listing, when they come current for closure. :) Do we need a WP:CCI on this contributor? -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:49, 17 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Well I don't have time to do much with this at the moment, I wasnt aware of the CCI process. I can extend the block if you think that this might not get much attention until its further along in the process and more people are looking at it. Referring to CCI may be neccessary, I am hoping the user will correct their behavior but there is no certainty. Evilphoenix Talk 09:18, 19 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Green tickY I've done a random spot-check of his contribs overall (he has non-trivially contributed to 2255 articles) and found only one problem,in Frank Dunlop, which I've corrected. Since March, he's contributed to 177 articles [1]); I spot-checked a good dozen of those and didn't find any issues in those articles. Given that, I don't think we have enough to justify a WP:CCI at this time. Bt definitely one to keep an eye on! And if any more issues are uncovered, we'll have to considering listing it anyway. ( User:NortyNort, if you don't know how to use the CCI tool ( [2]), let me know. It's not hard, of course; and it's useful even at CP. :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:20, 26 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Okay, I passed over this one as it seemed misplaced and you were handling it. I saw the guidelines for the clerk duties and although I do look to see a pattern of copyvios for users (talk page warnings, blocks, etc.), this tool will come in handy as well. Thanks.-- NortyNort (Holla) 13:28, 26 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Oh, I didn't mean to suggest that you should have checked. It just occurred to me that I do use this tool here and that you might need to know about it, too. :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:40, 26 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article doesn't reflect a verified OTRS ticket as of yet.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:09, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. No response to my last letter. Guess they decided they didn't want to grant permission. :/ -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:28, 26 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Cleaned up instances of a copyvio from creation. The text was paraphrased and in some cases, copied and pasted.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:34, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Text removed by a subsequent editor. It was from the article's original version. I found nothing else in Earwig and text sample searches.-- NortyNort (Holla) 09:45, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • The second time this article has been here. I removed the text after it was re-added by one editor. I explained the copyright issue to the editor on their talk.-- NortyNort (Holla) 10:06, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Removed the section as reproduced verbatim or close-paraphrased. I am unsure of the magazine's copyright are whether it was re-copyrighted after 1970 but I assumed it was.-- NortyNort (Holla) 10:28, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
  • Cut and paste move, I redirected back to the original.-- NortyNort (Holla) 10:31, 25 May 2011 (UTC) reply
