The result of the discussion was: rename. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:52, 14 October 2014 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: To make clear that this category (and hence its subcats) is for Wikipedians (i.e. user pages), e.g. not for files. This is a child of Category:Wikipedians by Wikipedia contribution licensing. I'm open to suggestions for alternative names. DexDor ( talk) 20:14, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Rename as the MISL III is now defunct, and for consistency with Category:Major Indoor Soccer League (1978–92) and Category:Major Indoor Soccer League (2001–08). Dravecky ( talk) 17:01, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Rename. Follow-up to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2014 September 5#Category:Ancient Gaul. The second is not eligible for speedy as I have proposed removing "native", which seems unnecessary. – Fayenatic L ondon 16:10, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:French titular bishops‎, despite a slight preference below for the other suggestion, to match all others in Category:Roman Catholic titular bishops. – Fayenatic L ondon 09:35, 30 November 2014 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: It's more meaningful to categorize based on nationality instead of based on country, as these bishops may live and work outside France. Marcocapelle ( talk) 08:47, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Churches in Romania is the only entry of Church buildings in Romania, so one of the two categorization layers is redundant. Note that there is not a consistent use of terminology in this tree, the terms 'churches' and 'church buildings' are alternated. Marcocapelle ( talk) 06:48, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: Rename. Main article is now at Major Indoor Soccer League (2008–2014), as the league is now defunct and its teams merged into a rival league. Powers T 01:37, 3 October 2014 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: rename per nom. Although opinions are divided, I find Carlossuarez46's argument persuasive. – Fayenatic L ondon 14:29, 30 November 2014 (UTC) reply

  • Purge Question Will this also require a purge of those who were harmed but survived? (I can start clicking through the articles but I thought you might know offhand.) RevelationDirect ( talk) 09:05, 4 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose Armenian Genocide victims just about conveys the same idea in much more simple wording. Étienne Dolet ( talk) 18:07, 4 October 2014 (UTC) reply
    • No, it doesn't. Not all victims of genocide are killed, necessarily. Survivors of genocide are also victims. - Hoops gza ( talk) 00:51, 5 October 2014 (UTC) reply
      • There's a difference from dying to being killed during a genocide. Not all those who "die" during a genocide necessarily die from murder. Many Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians simply died from starvation. Hence, if the wording of the category becomes something like, People who were killed in the Armenian Genocide, I may throw in a support vote. But I still would like to think about this further. Étienne Dolet ( talk) 06:31, 5 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Support fleeing and becoming a refugee is a possible victimhood with a genocide. This name is clearer and matches actual usage. RevelationDirect ( talk) 02:45, 6 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Comment Again, I'll only support if it's "People who were killed in the..." I think it's better that way. Étienne Dolet ( talk) 19:40, 6 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Support Etienne In the case where the death is intentional, "killed by" is used (see Category:People killed in World War II for example). We are specifically looking at genocide here, so if the people simply died and were not killed, then they are not victims of genocide by definition. Genocide requires intention to kill. Rather than following current arrangement, I propose revisiting the whole of Category:Genocide victims, whose children are often parented by "murder" and "killed" categories. SFB 19:37, 9 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Support whether people were killed actively or passively is not distinguishing. By SFB's definition, Anne Frank was not a victim of the holocaust or of genocide as she died of disease. But, whether people are killed directly or by being worked or starved to death in camps is not a distinguishing difference. Armenians who were uprooted and sent into the desert to starve were victims of the same policies as those who were shot or hanged on the way. The statement that "if the people simply died and were not killed, then they are not victims of genocide by definition" made above reflects a profound misunderstanding of the means and methods of genocide. Carlossuarez46 ( talk) 17:05, 10 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Support as Category:People killed in the Armenian Genocide, etc. I do not think it matters whehter they were marched into a desert and left to die of thirst or were the victim of a direct killing. They were all killed in the Genocide. All three were the result of policy by the Ottoman Empire (not the present Turkey). The present Turkey should not need to see itslef as any more (or less) responsible for the events than the present Feeral Republic of Germany is for the Nazi holocaust against Jews, Gyspies, and Blacks. I think it is unhelpful to have them in a "killed by" parent, unless clearly linked to a former state. Peterkingiron ( talk) 13:15, 13 October 2014 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose: Simple wording is preferred when naming categories. Alexikoua ( talk) 07:34, 2 November 2014 (UTC) reply
