Question on Baltimore@
Dravecky: So, if I'm reading the article right, the Baltimore team will continue as the same organization with most of the same players but under a different league. Is this nomination is to make sure the player cats roll up into the correct league?

Reply: Yes. Baltimore (like so many arena soccer teams) has outlived many leagues and the player categories are divided by league affiliation. The change in leagues invalidated all of Baltimore's MISL player contracts so a new roster (with some returning players) is being assembled. Once the roster for 2014–15 is finalized, a new "
Category:Baltimore Blast (MASL) players" will be added. -

Empty manually then delete -- We need to ensure that the articles all end off with an appropriate category, but "prelate" is generally a vague term. There seem to be several types of prelatures in the RC Church. Do these need to be merged, as there do not seem to be enough to make a good category? Some seem to be appointments to an emerging diocese. Several seem to be linked to appointment to a titular see.

Nominator's rationale: It's more meaningful to categorize based on nationality instead of based on country, as these bishops may live and work outside France.

Support either of the nom's proposals, he is correct in the statement above, which makes the "Roman Catholic" unnecessary - whether it's still better with it I'm 50/50 on - but the current title is misleading or ambiguous or both: are the bishops in France? their titular sees in France? when they go to Malawi or Rome for whatever reason are they still "in France"? Anyway, please change.

Keep -- The important thing is not nationality, but where they served or mainly served. Titular sees are "in pars infidelum", usually in areas that belonged to the Orthodox church after the schism. I would be surpised if any of the titular sees were in France.

Nominator's rationale:Churches in Romania is the only entry of Church buildings in Romania, so one of the two categorization layers is redundant. Note that there is not a consistent use of terminology in this tree, the terms 'churches' and 'church buildings' are alternated.

There's a difference from dying to being killed during a genocide. Not all those who "die" during a genocide necessarily die from murder. Many Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians simply died from starvation. Hence, if the wording of the category becomes something like, People who were killed in the Armenian Genocide, I may throw in a support vote. But I still would like to think about this further.

Support Etienne In the case where the death is intentional, "killed by" is used (see
Category:People killed in World War II for example). We are specifically looking at genocide here, so if the people simply died and were not killed, then they are not victims of genocide by definition. Genocide requires intention to kill. Rather than following current arrangement, I propose revisiting the whole of
Category:Genocide victims, whose children are often parented by "murder" and "killed" categories.
SFB19:37, 9 October 2014 (UTC)reply
Support whether people were killed actively or passively is not distinguishing. By SFB's definition, Anne Frank was not a victim of the holocaust or of genocide as she died of disease. But, whether people are killed directly or by being worked or starved to death in camps is not a distinguishing difference. Armenians who were uprooted and sent into the desert to starve were victims of the same policies as those who were shot or hanged on the way. The statement that "if the people simply died and were not killed, then they are not victims of genocide by definition" made above reflects a profound misunderstanding of the means and methods of genocide.

Support as
Category:People killed in the Armenian Genocide, etc. I do not think it matters whehter they were marched into a desert and left to die of thirst or were the victim of a direct killing. They were all killed in the Genocide. All three were the result of policy by the Ottoman Empire (not the present Turkey). The present Turkey should not need to see itslef as any more (or less) responsible for the events than the present Feeral Republic of Germany is for the Nazi holocaust against Jews, Gyspies, and Blacks. I think it is unhelpful to have them in a "killed by" parent, unless clearly linked to a former state.
