Nominators rationale: Both are separate categories in the parent category
Category:History of the United Kingdom by period but looking at the child categories, it's random what periods appear in each category. There is a "History of Scotland/Wales/Ireland/Northern Ireland by period" categories and I think "England" is more clearly a geographic place name than "Britain". If there is an important distinction between the two that is crucial to periodization, that should be noted on both the category pages.

Keep the Britain category is clearly for the old stuff, the Industrial Revolution was miscategorized, but the other periods are clearly pre-England/Wales/Scotland/Ireland etc. Further, it doesn't make sense, since Wales is part of Britain, but not England. --

Oppose -- If we were to do anything, it would be a reverse merge, as England is only one part of Britain.
Category:Prehistoric sites in England and some century/millennia categories are the only England ones that cover the pre-migrations period. The trees should remain separate, but the distinction Roman and Prehistoric Britian categories and Dark Age and later England could usefully be covered in a headnote.

Nominators rationale: They are offices with the same function with different names in different states. In no case is there a state with both.

Why do you think consistency within the fiction category overrides consistency within the Northern Ireland tree (which was decided at various cfds such as
this one and
this one)?

Keep -- Northern Irish is not satisfactory as an adjectival version of Northern Ireland. Some country names do mnot provide a satisfactory adjective.

Keep. The convention of
Category:Northern Ireland is to avoid the phrase "Northern Irish", which is politically non-neutral. The alternative "of/from/in Northern Ireland" was set at
CFD 2009 July 13, and has been upheld at every CFD since then. However, when alternative format better fits the convention of another categ tree, the alternative should be created as a {{category redirect}} to assist editors who categorise pages. In this case,
Category:Northern Irish Fiction should have been created as a redirect to
Category:Fiction of Northern Ireland. I have just done so, without prejudice to the outcome of this discussion (closer peel free to delete the redirect if you think that's appropriate). --

Nominator's rationale: Subject is a high school, of no particular note; there will never be enough pages related to need this category.

Nominator's rationale: This is about a high school in Sri Lanka. There's never going to be more than the school itself, and there is a very good chance this is the creation of a sock (looking into that now).

Nominator's rationale: This category reflects an
arbitrary inclusion criterion since there is no compelling reason to divide the topic of
terrorism in India into pre- and post-2001 periods. India has been plagued for decades by separatist movements that have carried out countless terrorist acts of varying degrees of notability.
Delete per nom. While 2001 may be controlling in some places (but even then, with by year cats, I see no reason to impose such a overall rule), it seems to not be at all controlling in India. The issues of Kashmir, Assam, Punjab and other places with movements that at times engage in terrorism long pre-date 2001, and nothing of note changed the issues in India in 2001.

Each subcategory is in two year-based categories – "XXXX in India" and "Terrorist incidents in XXXX" – and we already have a category structure for
Category:Terrorist incidents by century, decade, and year; a parallel structure for terrorism by century, decade, and year will contain little other than the "incidents" categories. -- Black Falcon(

Merge -- Effectively these are the same things. In some countries, it may be useful to have a subcategory for obsolete ministries, if there are neough to warrant it.

Delete -- This is far too like an award or a performance by performer category to be kept. We have deleted Olympic cities and Capital of Culure categories. The precedent applies.
