Claims to fame are being chief of police of Orlando, Florida, and an unsuccessful candidate for state legislature; does not meet

Keep meets
WP:GNG. Has significant coverage from independent reliable sources. Plus,
WP:GNG >
WP:NPOL. --

Incline to agree that the biographical entry may not have seen its last use and would only have to be reconstructed if Ms Demmings returns to the political arena in the 2016 cycle. It is not quite candid to assert that her only claim to political prominence was 'as an unsuccessful candidate for the state legislature' when she had support for a bid for the United States Congress only 2 cycles ago. — Preceding

Keep: See
[1][2][3][4][5][6], and all the sources in the article. Although almost a
WP:BLP1E case, there are multiple events that the subject is notable for. Clearly meets
WP:BASIC due to the coverage in
reliable sources, and below
WP:BIO#Additional criteria, it says: Failure to meet these criteria (in this case,
WP:NPOL) is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included. Esquivaliencet 00:13, 23 March 2015 (UTC)reply
Keep. Chief of police of a large enough department to make her notable. --
