The result was keep‎. This discussion is a sign that sometimes folks only show up to an AFD discussion after several relistings so they can serve a useful purpose. Liz Read! Talk! 00:46, 2 March 2024 (UTC) reply

List of largest hotels in Europe (  | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – ( View log | edits since nomination)

Appears to be original research. Links mostly reference the official hotel website. We already have List of largest hotels and I don't think the notability for a continental list is quite there. Ajf773 ( talk) 09:22, 2 February 2024 (UTC) reply

WP:CROSSCAT is not the reason for deletion in this case. It's a case of both notability and original research. Ajf773 ( talk) 09:19, 8 February 2024 (UTC) reply

  • Delete, agree with nom that NLIST is failed, as none of the sources in the article, nor any I could find in a search, make this grouping. The topic of "largest hotels" is too niche to get multiple articles, unlike e.g. largest cities. Mach61 ( talk) 03:28, 24 February 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Keep per the significant coverage in reliable sources.

The subject passes Wikipedia:Notability#Stand-alone lists, which says, "One accepted reason why a list topic is considered notable is if it has been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources, per the above guidelines; notable list topics are appropriate for a stand-alone list." I will show below that "autobiographies" has been treated as a "a group or set by independent reliable sources".

According to this page from the publisher Internet Archive, Hospitality Management is a Dutch trade magazine for the hotel industry that is published eight times a year.

There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow list of largest hotels in Europe to pass Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".
