Commentary at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julie Aberg Robison (2nd nomination) led me to consider assessing the notability of the mayors of Cary in addition to the city councillors I had already AfD'd (the other one was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marla Dorrel (2nd nomination)). In case anybody's curious about my workflow here, I came to Marla Dorrel by way of Category:Orphaned articles from February 2009, and from there took a look at Category:Cary Town Council members, and have now come to the sub-category Category:Mayors of Cary, North Carolina.

I have been unable to find sufficient independent reliable sourcing that would indicate Mr. Booth is particularly notable outside of Cary.

• Comments and Conversations On the Growth of Cary, North Carolina, 1955-2015 looks substantial, but is a Lulu Press book, which means it's self-published with no editorial oversight, and can't be considered reliable
• Architecture briefly discusses his role in the construction of the town's amphitheatre, but the focus appears to be on the theatre, not him.
• Cognitive Rehabilitation for Neuropsychiatric Disorders and National Geographic mention him trivially, as in "Koka Booth of X says Y about Z".
• Newspapers.com mostly includes trivial hits that mention performances at "Koka Booth Amphitheatre", and hits from local newspapers. Filtering out "North Carolina" and only picking papers from other states only shows "Koka Booth Amphitheatre" hits.

Overall the lack of non-local results confirms that Mr. Booth did not attract the kind of "sufficiently significant attention by the world at large" required by WP:N in order to sustain an article. ♠ PMC♠ (talk) 14:29, 29 September 2018 (UTC) reply

• Delete. Cary NC is certainly large enough that a well-sourced and genuinely substantive article about a mayor could be kept, but it's neither large nor prominent enough that we would need to keep a poorly referenced stub that barely goes any further than stating that he exists.
