The former alderman of a municipality of approx. 11,246 people is not significant beyond the local level. Deletions that demonstrate this case are the temporary deletion of
Tom Cullerton from January 2012 until November 2012.
Neither his unsuccessful candidacy for the State Senate nor his smalltown city council seat get him past
WP:POLITICIAN — and as the article's only reference is a
primary source (the list of aldermen on the city's own website...which, better yet, doesn't even have his name on it anymore!), he hasn't even cleared the
WP:GNG bar in the first place. Delete.
