There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for
advertising or promotion, which is
contrary to the
purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{
unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See
Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our
username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
This user's request to be
unblocked to request a
change in username has been reviewed by an
administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the
blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Hi
Alexf, I think there was some kind of misunderstanding of my editing in the Article (
/info/en/?search=Great_Lakes_Chemical_Corporation). I am a German Wikipedia User with a verified Account (
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:LANXESS). With the help of a Wikipedia Mentor I am trying to keep all information on Wikipedia about Lanxess up-to-date. As I did not want to edit an English article out of the blue, I suggested an update with an external reference in the Great Lakes talk, which was not rejected by anyone (
/info/en/?search=Talk:Great_Lakes_Chemical_Corporation). That’s why I wanted to edit the article myself.
I think the backlink to my German user profile automatically translated to an English user profile (
/info/en/?search=User:LANXESS) – one that I do not own. My question is, would you unblock the English user profile if I set up a new account for me (f.e. „Valerie at LANXESS Corp. Comm.“) in order to edit or suggest edits in English articles?
I fully understand that Wikipedia Articles and Pages are no space for advertising, my only goal is to keep info on Lanxess and its businesses up-to-date which I always reference with external links.
Hi Vanjagenije, I have read the articles about Conflict of Interest and Paid Editing within Wikipedia and herewith declare my conflict of interest regarding all Lanxess connected articles. I assure to not directly edit those effected articles including the one of my company. Instead, I will only place request edits on the article talk pages with a disclosure in order to notify other users about my connection, as suggested in the Wikipedia article about COI. My goal is not to make WP:COI edits or to violate Wikipedia guidelines but to contribute to up-to-date information. Kind regards, Valerie LANXESS (talk) 12:42, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
I would add that while on the German Wikipedia company names are encouraged as usernames, here they are not permitted. Regarding your block, you will need to read about conflict of interest at
WP:COI and paid editing at
WP:PAID. In order to be unblocked. you will need to agree to not directly edit the article about your company, instead making
edit requests on the article talk page and formally declare your conflict of interest and/or paid editing relationship(if you have one).

Aside from the pages I suggest you read above, you should also read
WP:ORG with emphasis on what acceptable sources are. Looking at the one edit request you have made, I'm concerned that you would just be requesting to post unacceptable sources such a press releases, announcements of routine business transactions, or any other improper source listed on WP:ORG.
