Thanks partly to your prodding at ArbCom, we've gone ahead and started something for Isr-Pales modeled on the Sri Lanka project you'd mentioned. Would you be willing to join us and sign on? Here the shortcut, WP:IPCOLL. Even if only as an observer and occasional advisor, it would be a vote of confidence or moral support. Also, we'd welcome you suggestions on how to advance something like the good cop/bad cop approach you mentioned. Thanks again for your encouragement, be well, HG | Talk 16:27, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Hey, I join the Scout project because I have a son in scouting. Unfortunately I didn't get to work with Rlevse much for whatever reason, but he welcomed me in. I really don't know much about what was going on that caused him to quit, but maybe you could remind him that there are some folks out here new like me that would like the opportunity to help out with some guidance from him. Thanks.-- THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 14:36, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
After much thought and deliberation I have decided to return. Many wikians contacted me by various means and I truly appreciate the support from all of them. Man, did I need that wiki break! I have learned from it and will use the experience to improve. — Rlevse • Talk • 19:48, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
My effort to regain adminship was unsuccessful, and I'll do what I can to ensure your opinion of my suitability for adminship improves. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to voice your opinion.-- MONGO 19:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I am not one for sending round pretty pictures, but after my recent RfA, which passed 68/1/7, I am now relaxed and this is to thank you for your support. I will take on board all the comments made and look forward to wielding the mop with alacrity. Or two lacrities. -- Rodhullandemu ( Talk) 21:11, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Would you chime in at the talkpage? A user is accusing us of not enough POV, we've worked very hard to keep it neutral. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) ( talk) 20:17, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for participating in my RFA, which closed successfully with 40 supports, 13 opposes, and 4 neutrals. For those of you who supported my RFA, I greatly appreciate it. For those who did not, I'm also thankful for your constructive criticism. If you need some advice or have some pointers for me, you know where to reach me! A special thank you to Majorly for all his time and effort he has placed in my nomination. Once again, thank you all for your helpful comments. Now off to new admin school! Hi, you've objected to a FA nomination of The Corrs. However, the explanation you provided did not make sense to me. Could you please elaborate it on this page so I may address the problem. Thanks. σмgнgσмg (talk) 08:08, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
With the 39th Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage coming up on April 26, I have nominated Manzanar to be on Wikipedia's main page on that date. Please add your support for that at Today's featured article requests -- Gmatsuda ( talk) 22:43, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Why did you remove the reference from the Roanoke, Virginia article? Your comment "rm sp" wasn't clear, since WP:SP doesn't apply. Thanks. – BozoTheScary ( talk) 15:40, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
hey Sumo, I just wanted to thank you for participating in my recent RFA. to show just how much I learn from and admit mistakes, you might want to check out my in-depth RFA analysis (comments are welcome). i've also left you some templated thank spam below. cheers, xenocidic ( talk) 00:11, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I would like to thank the community for placing their trust in me during
my recent request for adminship, which passed 72

. Rest assured, I have read each comment thoroughly and will be
addressing the various concerns raised as I step cautiously into my new role as janitor. In particular, I would like to thank
Balloonman for putting so much time into reviewing my contributions and writing such a thoughtful nomination statement after knowing me for only a brief period of time (and for convincing me that I was ready to take up the mop now, rather than go through
admin coaching).
To my fellow admins - please let me know right away if I ever take any mis-steps with my new tools. Should I make a mistake, and you reverse the action, I will not consider it to be wheel-warring (but please tell me so I can understand what I did wrong).
To everyone - please feel free to slap me around a bit if I ever lose sight of the core philosophy of Wikipedia as I understand it - the advancement of knowledge through the processes of mutual understanding and respect. As always, feel free to drop by my talk page if I can be of any assistance. =)
Sincerely,

Thank you for !voting on my RfA. If you supported, I'll make sure your confidence is not misplaced; if you opposed, I'll take your criticism into account and try to adjust my behavior accordingly.
See you around the wiki!-- SarekOfVulcan ( talk) 01:05, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your participation in
my recent RfA, which closed successfully. I felt the process was a thorough review of my contributions and my demeanor, and I was very gratified to see how many editors took the time to really see what I'm about and how I can be of help to the project. As a result, some editors changed their views during the discussion, and most expressed specific, detailed points to indicate their opinion (whether it was
,
, or
).
A number of editors were concerned about my level of experience. I was purposeful in not waiting until a particular benchmark occurred before requesting adminship, because I feel - as many do - that adminship is not a reward and that each case is individual. It is true that I am not the most experienced editor around here, but I appreciate that people dug into my contributions enough to reach the conclusion that I seem to have a clue. Also, the best thing about this particular concern is that experience is something an editor - or administrator - can always get more of, and I'll continue doing that, just as I've been doing. (If I seem a little slow at it, feel free to slap me.)
I am a strong believer in the concept that this project is all about the content, and I'm looking forward to contributing wherever I can. Please let me know if I can be of any help. In the meantime, I'm off to school...
Thanks again!
Please don't 'refactor' ( [1]) the comments of other editors, except where those comments represent an egregious violation of policy.
Speaking as an administrator, in general we have thick enough skins to take a bit of generic 'adminz are teh evils' abuse. ScienceApologist's comments aren't directed at specific, named individuals. While his remarks aren't particularly kind, we generally allow upset editors the freedom to cool off (within reason) on their own userspace.
In general, refactoring such comments is likely to further upset the editor involved, and isn't helpful. If you require further guidance in this area, consider taking your concerns to WP:WQA or WP:AN/I before redacting or refactoring anyone else's writing. TenOfAllTrades( talk) 23:13, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I understand why you have the break notice above. I don't consider it a particularly wise move on your part. Your edit earlier today was wise and well considered; your explanation of that to TenOfAllTrades was a bit less optimal. You could have explained SA's history better or taken a more patient tone yourself. And I can say that as one of the admins he is attacking, even if not by name - I'm highly confident that I'm one of the admins that he had in mind when he posted it. (See this or this). Having a thick skin is one of the characteristics the community wants admins to have. Attacking admins is a favorite strategy of trolls and vandals and is also a natural reaction for sanctioned good faith editors - a good admin had best be capable of ignoring the attack on themselves and dealing solely with the consequences for the rest of the community.
I think I understand why you reacted as you did. The meatball:defend each other principle (links are in multiple arbcomm cases if you need one) made your action a reasonable one. But that attack by SA isn't worth raising a big stink over, and in the long run won't do SA any good.
Your action drew you to my attention earlier today, before you were reverted. I was pleasantly surprised to see an editor who had been around so long and contributing so much and without significant problems. Far too often, admins get to see only problematic editors. Please keep doing the good work upon your return. GRBerry 02:40, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Sumoeagle179, it is with deep awareness of the responsibility conferred by your trust that I am honored to report that in part to your support, my request for adminship passed (87/14/6). I deeply value the trust you and the Wikipedia community have in me, and I will embark on a new segment of my Wikipedia career by putting my new tools to work to benefit the entire community. I'm advising all participants in the IfD discussion for the Image Indiana Jones and the Cross of Coronado.jpg that a subsequent DRV was filed here. Your participation is welcome. Dreadstar † 01:43, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for participating in my RfB! I am very grateful for the confidence of the community shown at my RfB, which passed by a count of 154/7/2 (95.65%). I have read every word of the RfB and taken it all to heart. I truly appreciate everyone's input: supports, opposes, neutrals, and comments. Of course, I plan to conduct my cratship in service of the community. If you have any advice, questions, concerns, or need help, please let me know. Again, Thanks! — Rlevse • Talk • 08:48, 29 July 2008 (UTC) |
That's only fair. I didn't mean to disrupt, but apparently I did, so I won't protest too much. I'm not really a drama whore, but I can see how it would come across that way sometimes. Thank you...
...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazi moff 22:02, 4 August 2008 (UTC) |

Just a little note to say thankyou for participating in my successful RFA candidacy, which passed with 96 supports, 0 opposes, and 1 neutral. I am pleasantly taken aback by the amount of support for me to contribute in an administrative role and look forward to demonstrating that such faith is well placed. Thank you for the questions, although answering Q6 makes me feel like a show-off! I'll get back to the aspect about which ones I nominated when I can. Re Q7 - did you miss my answer to Q4, or am I being a bit thick? -- Dweller ( talk) 11:39, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
You left a message on my talk page that was guilty of the same thing MBisanz was needlessly harassing TheKohser for. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that. -- Duk 16:05, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
It was an attempt to remove a roadblock for the RFC, I realise that it might be out of line and if it is I'll accept the consequences. If you feel it necessary I've no objections to you taking it to AN/I, or if you feel strongly about it to revert. I was hoping the RFC would work, because if it doesn't, this issue will end up winding its way to Arbcom and then everyone loses. Justin talk 10:36, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
