I've blocked him; definitely a sock. The name similarity, along with the behaviour (messing with the talk page of another blocked sock) is enough for me. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 01:23, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I'm responding to your message.
Quote: "Hi, the recent edit you made to Jonah Hill has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. I'm sorry I made that change. I was just joking around, I don't usually do that sort of stuff. So I hope you can forgive me for that on the behalf of the Wikipedia community. Thank you.
Good job so far on Edgar. Also, you should go for the award WP:CROWN. One of the most important awards that a user can get. See if you can meet the criteria for it and go for it.-- Lan Di ( talk) 13:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi. thanks for your note. i definitely would like to stay aware of this mediation. please feel free to keep me posted. i will also keep an eye on the mediation. I may or may not participate; if others reach consensus there, I will abide by whatever agreement they reach. thanks. -- Steve, Sm8900 ( talk) 14:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Was Wrong , You are the one vandalizing by reverting FACTS that appear on the main articles of wikipedia in the subject as such. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.183.132.213 ( talk) 15:32, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
You might not care, but in regards to the Millicent Lovejoy article a vandal was actually trying to help lol. She is indeed made up (and the link will probably be gone soon with the AFD tag). I just thought I'd let you know about what i found to be an amusing situation. TecmoBo ( talk) 07:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Whats going on? When I try to click on edit it makes me download some text file, therefore I have to use the little edits. Is this part of my punishment? Where theirs a will, theirs a way. 16:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Strike-through text
I have had several messages from you saying that i have vandalised pages which i have necer been on, and certainly not edited.
I was wondering if you give me a reason on why this could be? —Preceding

removed level 4 warning, always start with a level 1 warning, unless its extreme.
I would love to be a sysop. However, I failed an RFA in late February, and a few weeks later, someone else asked me if I wanted them to nominate me. I asked a few experienced editors what their opinions were, and they all said I should probably wait at least 8-10 weeks before trying again. That would be anywhere from around May 1 to May 15. Around that time, I am going to be taking a heck of a lot of AP tests, so unless you think that the Wikipedia Community would be willing to make a HUGE exception, (i.e. passing my hypothetical 2nd RFA only a month after failing my first) I really don't think I would be able to accept a nomination until around the end of May. I saw your comment on Rudget's talk page earlier about this, and have been thinking about it a bit. Of course it may be easier for some to simply type in their comments without the template, but I think it would be slightly helpful in many cases. I think the next step for you would be to get a wider consensus on whether the community wants to use the template by starting a thread on the AIV talk page. Best of luck, Malinaccier ( talk) 17:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Alright, try it now. Malinaccier ( talk) 18:09, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
You had removed my edit stating the information within this link was incorrect.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franjo_Vlasic
It is stated this person is a descendant of the vlasic pickles. I am a direct descendant and have the true history of the vlasic directly from my mother, grandmother, great grandfather and his father back to Croatia.
He most certainly was not a general or named franjo. Whoever posted this information is attempting to boast up their family name.
The page needs removed, the information is inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.155.126.166 ( talk) 04:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, something like this happened a few times before, and I think I have figured out what is going on. If a username is reported at WP:UAA, for some reason, Huggle reports them to AIV immediately. I will talk to Huggle's dev about it... J.delanoy gabs adds 20:35, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I don't think we should be replacing other peoples raw text with a template, just because there is an appropriate one available. I posted on both WP:AN & ANI advising of the templates - and the response isn't 100% enthusiastic. I think they are a useful addition, but a long way before becoming compulsory. I feel we should let people choose to use them or not, and allow the community to decide if they are to become standard practice or not. Cheers. LessHeard vanU ( talk) 22:25, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Sure, everyone has their opinions. I wonder if those users had the same opinions towards the templates. Some people just can't be happy, can they ;) But sure, I won't replace text with templates, just they added their edit conflict text after me, so it wasnt really necessary Steve Crossin (talk to me) 22:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I think the templates are pretty useful. There's two cases missing from the set, though:
My only concern beyond that is that the icons are so big that they overshadow the bullets for the reports. I'm not sure the icons can be made any smaller, though. And it's hard enough to get all reports to start with bullets, much less a template for some other icon. Other than that, though, excellent job! And it's a tool that I will use as appropriate. — C.Fred ( talk) 00:06, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Steve, it's probably best if you don't "clerk" on AIV. It's better to let the admins decide who deserves blocking etc. 'Cause sometimes a real ass vandalism-only account can slip through like this one that I had to block: [1]. People don't need a full set of warnings (per se) to be blocked for vandalism only accounts. But thanks for helping out though Steve! Take care. Scarian Call me Pat 00:50, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that last one I shouldn't have commented on, but most of the time it's generally OK, but, I'll try to be more wary on AIV. Cheers. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 00:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, thanks for your support Tiptoety. I'm not trying to step on anyones toes here. I'm just trying to help out. AIV gets reports that don't require a block, and an admin reviewing them takes up valuable time. Non-admins checking these surely save time. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 01:04, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I have a pretty good idea of what went into those pages. :P 99.9% sure that was a sock with a grudge you saw. I may consider semi-protection but not sure. While I do like increasing my vandal count, big edits like that are insane. I probably will request. Anyways, thanks. =D - Warthog Demon 03:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

"When he worked at Coffee Bucks, he invented nicotine coffee, which led to his promotion to manager." Nicotine coffee appeared to be a joke of some sort. If this wasn't the case, you have my apologies. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 04:40, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Nicotine coffee was a joke featured in an episode of Scrubs, which is a comedy/drama television program. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.67.60.147 ( talk) 05:45, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
It's gone a tad beyond a content dispute on the talk page and my user pages, but how do I warn it/him/her/them sufficiently? Therequiembellishere ( talk) 05:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, well, the reverting of their edit may have irritated them to the extent that they vandalised your user pages, I've had it happen to me as well. I wouldn't label their edit to the article as vandalism, however the edits to your userspace were. You can warn users by using these templates, but I woulnd't recommend you mark their article edits as vandalism, unless they become clearly vandalistic. I've warned each user, and if it continues, re-report. I'd suggest maybe post on WP:ANI. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 05:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. Therequiembellishere ( talk) 05:11, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm still around, just was on a business trip, and now I'm running a 7 day query program of our images (600,000 images on my 4 year old machine, while being maxlag compliant takes a long time), so I won't be on Live (ram footprint issue), but I'll be around email and of course at my talk page. The Mecab is progressing nicely I think. We've got a good basis of exactly what the dispute is, and what each side wants to happen, and now we're hitting the meat of the issue, what makes the other guy's version unacceptable. MBisanz talk 05:52, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to note, Luna redesigned the template, I've been adding and tweaking it, I wasn't aware of how to oo the complex coding. I had the initial idea, but she molded it to . So, I can't take all the credit, but I've also contributed to it quite a bit. It's all about initial thoughts being developed. I've been clerking on AIV a lot as well, see here for an example. Steve Crossin (talk to me) 06:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I was wondering if you could answer a question of mine. I seem to see these exact words on vandals user talk pages very often. Could you tell me how this works? (Example: User_talk:220.233.167.130) Thanks! Captin Shmit ( talk) 06:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Sure :) As part of the User Warnings Wikiproject, standard warnings were created, for a simple and easy way to warn editors that may not be contributing appropriately. It's just a simple way of doing things really. Just like the new AIV template, at . A simpler way of doing things. If you have any more questions, feel free to post another message here. Level 4 straight off - abusive edit summaries I thought why not go straight to 4 :( Satu Suro 06:45, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd personally have to disagree there. It's just, we must follow a standard process, a Level4im first off is a bit severe, I used to be very harsh on vandalism, but now, I'm not as rough. I'd suggest you follow the standard process, giving all warnings in order. It will give the blocking admin more reason to block as well, if they've been appropriately warned. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk to me) 06:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok advice taken - but really if you follow that protocol with one like that - well it would be interesting when you have an repeat abusive if in fact its the way to go (more abuse more time spent climbing the ladder) I would have thought once the full abusive summary was given that should have been sufficient. Thanks for the advice - cheers Satu Suro 06:55, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I like it quite a bit and don't see much room for change at the moment. I'm just worried if its on the image spammy side. May of our templates overuse small icons. But it isn't a big issue and I still think they come in quite handy. ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 07:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Steve, thanks for your welcome! I need your help about the creation of a subcategory. There's the category [[Category:Frazioni_of_Italy]], with the subdivision of the frazioni in the various Italian provinces: I'm not able to create the subcategory: Frazioni of the Province of Piacenza.
