Biographies
With father's day upcoming, focus is on writing up some biographies on some notable Saskatchewan people. Please categorise these with one of the sub categories from
Category:People from Saskatchewan and use the
talk page banner and check off Saskatchewan=yes as biographies are harder to trace for inclusion than other Saskatchewan titular articles. With such categories-banners being used, the articles are more likely to be found and expanded by other Saskatchewan users. Take some time to find biographies of Saskatchewan folk on wikipedia currently and categorise-banner them as well.
Saskatchewan B Class articles and Importance ratings
An opportunity to
Be bold and find out what is required to raise an aritlce past B class into
GA or
FA. Some information is included below about how to raise an article to B-class
For B-class articles the pre-requisites have been posted also at a few wikiprojects for the minimums required for
B-class before advancing on to
GA. Some wikiprojects offering B class outlines are
Military History FAQ,
Ships WP FAQ and
WP UK roads The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of
a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as
described here.

Las Vegas Stars
Las Vegas Stars appears to list one team that is defunct and one that is current. The article at
Las Vegas Stars (basketball) appears to indicate that the team is not defunct. If you know that the team mentioned there is defunct, can you mention it in the article? If that team still exists, it would make sense to put the link back into the template.

ECHL task force
I have been working on many ECHL articles since I joined Wikipedia a few years ago and am in the process of petitioning WikiProject Ice Hockey for a separate ECHL task force. With you edits and contributions to the Ontario Reign page and other relevant articles, I felt that you would be qualified to help with the task force. I am asking ten other Wikipedians and am hoping for at least five commitments before I petition the WikiProject. Would you be interested in joining this potential task force?

Reading Royals
I was judging by the ECHL page on wikipedia, which no longer says anything about a secondary affiliation. If you are positive that the secondary affiliation still exists, then I trust you to revert my edit.

Amidst
summer festivals,
tourism and
agricultural activities, the July newsletter is out amongst us. While you are out and about, take a festival photog, or photograph a visit to the park, or perhaps a flax field. Perhaps, add an article about your favourite festival or Saskatchewan tourism destination, increase what is online about our national, provincial or regional sites.

RE: Detroit Red Wings 2009-10 Season
Currently, there are probably about 15 different formats being used. When I said "consistency" I was just referring to other Red Wing season articles. There was talk a while ago at WP:HOCKEY about perhaps using a template for these so that they will all be consistent with each other but that did not happen. -

Lauren Jackson: Centre or Center?
My first reaction to this was "Of course not" ... followed by "Surely not", ... followed by "Wouldn't I have noticed?". Eventually I had to check.
Here is a link to Australia's NBL website that lists the players and their positions and
here is another to Australia's WNBL website that gives some information about Abby Bishop. Both use the spelling "centre" rather than "center". I checked a few other Australian sites and they all used "centre", so it seems that I'm OK.
Thanks for bringing up an interesting point. It makes me realise that I should be a little more careful before making such changes in the future.
Sorry. I saw the ECHL's affiliates page and Reading only had Toronto listed. I assumed that Los Angeles made Ontario their only ECHL team.

The Royals announced that they are renewing with the Maple Leafs and Marlies as their primary affiliations and added the Boston Bruins as their secondary. The Kings doesn't have a link to Reading.

Flags
Explain to me why Steve Yzerman has an American flag and Brett Hull a Canadian (he was born in Canada, but always played you the US team). Not to mention the fact if you take one of them off the wikiproject hockey team puts it back on. Here's a quote from
User:Krm500 (Link to the whole disscussion
here)"It is a guideline and not a policy, so if it were to be removed it shall be up for discussion. But in this case I don't see any need since this infobox adhere to the guideline; Nationality is used to inform readers of which country the player represent, or would represent, in international competitions governed by the IIHF." Alexei is allowed to play for team Canada (pending he makes the team).--

Question
I would consider creating a page for the teams that aren't already on this, and adding the parts of the schedule that are useful to them on that. I just don't like the idea of having the schedule on the league page as I have never knowningly seen it before. An alternative to this is creating that season schedule, and adding the schedule to it when you make it. I think that the former is the more preferable choice, and I would support the keeping of it should it ever become nominated for a deletion.

Labour Day & Saskatchewan's Anniversary Article Drive
Labour Day is Monday September 1, and Saskatchewan celebrates its 104 anniversary of joining confederation on September 4, 1905. Goal would be to improve the
Saskatchewan article to feature status or add main Saskatchewan topical articles or improve topics of Saskatchewan articles.
The
Portal:Saskatchewan is undergoing its second anniversary showcasing to the WWW wikipedia articles about Saskatchewan content which have achieved good or featured class criteria. Please add more contributions to wikipedia and to the portal itself. If you have suggestions for the portal or want help with the "box formatting style of programming" drop a note on the
portal talk page.
With fall and school starting up this late August and early September, it is time to start or upgrade the various secondary and post secondary
education and
Higher education in Saskatchewan articles for Saskatchewan or help with
requests . Ensure that principals, vice principals, and current curricula and extracurricular activities are accurate for the 2009-2010 school year. Notable changes in curricula and extracurricular activities could be added to a history section. The newest education article seems to be an
U of S article on the
University of Saskatchewan Physical Activity Complex.
List of universities in Canada this article was recently demoted from Featured list status. If anyone can work on this article and the new requirements to get it re-instated this would be awesome.

Sorry about that, I didn't know anything about the change. You may want to take a look at the other articles where you made the change, because the edit was reverted in some of them by other editors, who may have been in the same mindset as me. Once again, I'm sorry, I know how much of a hastle it can be to have to go back and fix other editors mistakes.

If there was a collaboration department, then the
North-West Rebellion, and its several child articles such as its
battles and
people would be excellent articles to find references for, expand and achieve
GA or
FA status. In the words of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Christine Tell who proclaimed, that "the 125th commemoration, in 2010, of the 1885 Northwest Resistance is an excellent opportunity to tell the story of the prairie
Métis and First Nations peoples' struggle with Government forces and how it has shaped Canada today."[1]
At this time, as well, the articles
Aboriginal peoples in Canada and
First Nations are undergoing
GA review. For an idea of updating the Northwest Rebellion articles watch these two articles or assist with their upgrade.
Feature articles are being re-called due to a lack of "
alt tags" for the images included in the articles, as in the ongoing screening of FA articles;
Canada and
Territorial evolution of Canada. When beginning or updating a Saskatchewan related article, ensure the use of alt tags, which will save time later when upgrading the article.
Please make use of

Higher education in Saskatchewan, was a part of a project that encompassed higher education in all the provinces and territories of Canada. As well students in public schools have been working on Saskatchewan town articles in the past.
