I fixed it. We have categories for these lists. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 06:09, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
That's true that the character images are available from the wikilinks, however, I've found that minimizing the need for the reader to leave the article is more beneficial to them. When I first started editing, I tried to make captions as short as possible. After a while, I noticed it was actually a chance to give the reader more information, and a better description was less ambiguous than the short ones I was doing.
Basically, because the image is acceptable fair use of the cover art, it isn't going anywhere. So why not use it help give the reader more context and minimize the amount of clicking they have to do? I'd much rather have them stay and read the whole article rather than jump back and forth with the possibility of not coming back.
To answer your question about other cover arts, sometimes other cover arts don't really provide much information so a lengthy caption is not needed. Myst V: End of Ages doesn't even have a caption, probably because the scenery, though very nice looking, doesn't add much extra context. Plus, it's probably one of those things someone did a couple times and others just copied it—I know that's what I based many of my first edits on, including the cover art for Kingdom Hearts. But that doesn't mean it's the best idea for every cover art. ( Guyinblack25 talk 14:50, 10 March 2009 (UTC))
Hey man. Firstly, I believe the word 'respectively' belongs because the exclusive Pokémon are listed in order by generation. Also, you make a good point about its relevance. I just thought since this idea of creating a rare Pokémon became a precedent, it was relevant to put this fact there. What do you think? Cheers, Artichoker talk 01:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Titles of sources should not be altered, except to reduce all-caps. Plus I think the reader will easily realize that Pokémon is spelled with an é by reading the text of the article. Artichoker talk 18:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Sure. Please don't hesitate to ask me these things, I am almost always willing to help. I would say you have made considerable improvement on the article; it's a good thing that you've realized how important it is to cite sources. In terms of further improvement, I would suggest that the article needs some expansion. Using the featured article Wii as a model, I think this article needs at least a 'Hardware' section and a 'Reception' section. The hardware section probably won't be too hard to write, and I'm sure there are sources out there for reception. I understand that this article doesn't have nearly much info as the Wii, but if you can get a 'History' section in there too, that would be great. Tell me if you need anything else, Artichoker talk 00:49, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey there, regarding this edit, please note that (as stated in Comma#Uses under "In dates", etc.) most grammar manuals recommend commas after the year when using U.S.-style dating. I've reverted that change accordingly. Cheers! — Huntster ( t • @ • c) 08:38, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
As I am not very experienced with media such as images, please pardon me if my advice isn't totally accurate. Judging by the Wii article, I would say that your pictures are not copyrighted, and are suitable for upload to the Commons. However, it might be best to ask on WT:VG for further clarification. Cheers, Artichoker talk 19:50, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
I did attempt to discuss it with the user; it led to nothing but accusations of harassment against me as can be seen here. I certainly wouldn't call one revert and then the addition of a disclaimer to suit that user's claims "edit warring". Cheers. MelicansMatkin ( talk) 02:27, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
The blog is not reliable. In the extreme case, the person in a video might not necessarily be who they say they are, so we choose to only work with reliable sources. Gary King ( talk) 01:46, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey there, thanks for the message.
I understand that it was extensive and quick, but general best practice is to not block an IP for the first time for more than 24 hours. This is because we still hold the idealistic candle that anyone can edit :) I saw that the IP is comcast, pretty much static, so I'll revisit the editing after the block has expired. If it misbehaves before I see it, let me know. Without stuffing WP:BEANS up my nose, there are issues with long term blocking even static IPs.
Happy editing to you, Keegan talk 05:53, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I have tentatively given you rollback. Please note that this is for simple vandalism, and not edits such as this. Not saying that you'd use it there, but that's an example. Note that these permissions can be removed at any time per the policy. Happy editing to you. Keegan talk 07:32, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I dont know what to do. I tried two different ways to write it. First from the Trophy Information. Second from the official Super Smash Bros Brawl site. I dont know where else to get it from. Could you just try and trim it up a bit? It needs something more then just ONE SENTENCE. Jigglypuff is in ALL THREE GAMES. Just instead of reverting could you please fix it? The first version would probably be the best. It was more describing it instead of "selling it" like the Dojo version. lol. I mean even Pikachu has a whole paragraph on Smash Bros. Hi, thanks for your message. SmackBot and other WP:AWB robots and users change the diacritics in category sorting (including "DEFAULTSORT") to non-diacritics. This does not affect the name shown in the category, just the sort order. This is the accepted way to sort items in Wikipedia. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 17:55 3 May 2009 (UTC).
In case you're wondering about this diff, the reason that construction doesn't work (despite its prevalence throughout Wikipedia) is that "with" doesn't take a verb form like "several publications praising"; it needs a noun clause, like "several publications' praising of ...". The noun form tends to be ungainly (because it usually requires a possessive as well), so I tend to avoid it altogether, except in rare circumstances. Does the "incorrect" construction impair understanding? Probably not, especially given that it's all over the place. But the WP:WIAFA 1(a) reviewers will generally point out every single instance that appears in a FAC, and for good reason. :) — TKD:: {talk} 11:25, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

If you do, any critical reception from the review that is added to the article would be much appreciated. Cheers, Artichoker talk 16:37, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
It has a symbol, but it's not clear what the symbol is. Not to mention that the front has no colon and the official website of the game clearly uses no colon. You are basically guessing that the game uses a colon, whereas there is solid evidence that the title has no colon. Even if the side of the box has a colon, that is not proof. The side of the box for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has no colon, the official title does use one. The sides of the boxes aren't enough (neither are logo's in general). If after all the hard work to bring MP to the FA I left those {{fact}} tags there... well, I'm not from the US, can't help the VG:RL (got those refs from Metacritic and a Google search). But I have to say, any help to improve other Metroid articles, considering the other main contributor of the series will only accept nominating the series as a Featured Topic (and for that, we need another FA so 1/3 of the Metroid articles have Featured status, and Trilogy/Other M need a PR and probably some expanding), is welcome. igordebraga ≠ 03:31, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Greetings. I'm currently wondering about the reversion you very recently made, which stated "unsourced and unnecessary". There was actually a lot of information important to the chronology in that edit, and most of the other information there is not sourced. Should we remove that as well? 72.161.205.236 ( talk) 21:12, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the courteous welcome. You are correct; the interview reads "100 years". What irks me about this situation is that I've seen multiple discussions on fan-sites, and most people seem to agree that the interview was mistranslated due to the lack of distinction between plurals in the Japanese language whence the interview came. I also know via common sense that the time between games must certainly be "hundreds" of years. Is there any solution to this quandary? I'm fairly sure having "100" serves only to mislead readers eager to form their own chronologies. You stated that most of the other edits can be considered "extraneous". I most strongly disagree. Here is an edit-by-edit run-down.
+"the actual Legend of Zelda" This is perhaps interesting but useless. I feel it neither harms nor helps the article.
-"the" (context of Seven Sages) I believe this word is very misleading and should be removed, as it implies that there has only ever been one set of Seven Sages, which has not been established.
+"full" (context of Triforce) This change distinguishes between a partial acquisition and a full acquisition, which is very important when one considers the significance of the triforce's status in the timeline. I find this wording more clear.
+"corrupted by Ganon and" (context of Sacred Realm vs. Dark World) Another useless but perhaps just slightly more descriptive edit.
+/-"According to the instruction manual ... Along his journey, he" This edit is important in that it implies that this Link was also featured in another game that immediately precedes this story. A source would be very nice here. Perhaps a link to an online .pdf document of the manual would work.
-/+"eventually ... childhood" This change cleaned up a bit of the language (see above) and provided some missing detail about the ending which helps readers better understand what is now known as the "Split Timeline Theory".
+/-"a united triforce ... defeated by Link" The fact about the triforce being in one piece at the time is crucial. The bit about the ending clarifies the words, "plot to resurrect Ganon". This last modification is really not necessary, but it gives the reader a better idea of what actually happens in the games.
+"In-game ... Hyrule" I feel the apparent references to Ocarina of Time and the following events are most important to the storyline.
+"Ganon ... with" The reference to Vaati here perhaps provides not even enough information to help readers place the story in the timeline. It is important to note the mage's appearance in the game.
+"Ganondorf ... dies" This is perhaps the most timeline-crucial edit I made. The state of the triforce at the end of the game in particular is highly significant.
+"Link" -"A man" This figure has been confirmed as Link by Miyamoto. I felt that the identity of the figure was so incredibly obvious as to not merit a source. If necessary, a source can be added. Thank you. 72.161.241.253 ( talk) 05:24, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
In response to the quotation from WP:Verifiability, "Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged", No quotations or material which is likely to be challenged was inserted- that is, unless you are challenging the material as inaccurate, which wouldn't make any sense, as there exists a great deal of information which then also should be challenged and removed. You also state that "Reverting your edit was nothing personal", which I fail to comprehend when you selectively decide to delete my material, leaving the rest intact. Thanks for uploading File:Metroid Prime Trilogy gameplay.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

You're welcome! I was doing some research for the Pokémon mini for the Nintendo Wikia and came across that on History of Nintendo page on NoE. I went to check the release date for the American Pokémon mini here on Wikipedia and found that the European date was missing! -- Bentendo24 ( talk) 20:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
